If your CTRL keyboard could use some extra color, we have the perfect solution. Allow us to make our case—or, five cases. Returning to the same proven CNC-machining process used to make the original CTRL, we’ve built a brand-new line of aluminum cases in five custom colorways. Inspired by the gray and earthy tones that define Drop keyboards, these colors fit right in on any CTRL—all while adding an unmissable accent that mech keys modders will love. Anodized with a vivid, non-toxic finish that won’t fade, each case comes with matching magnetic aluminum feet for easy height adjustment. All hardware and rubber pads are included.
Note: Owners of the Massdrop CTRL keyboard must add a plastic LED diffuser in order to install a new case. To help determine if you need a new diffusor, check out this community post.
If you own an original Massdrop CTRL keyboard, you’ll need to purchase a plastic LED diffuser (available as an add-on here) in order to ensure that your new CTRL case fits properly. Owners of the newer Drop CTRL keyboard do not need to purchase this diffuser.
Inside every CTRL keyboard is a high-performance PCBA—an assembled printed circuit board—that brings it to life. For the first time ever, we’re bringing that same PCBA to our community members as a standalone component. Home to all electronics on the CTRL, the PCBA is responsible for everything from custom key commands to custom RGB settings. It also houses the CTRL’s hot-swappable switch sockets, which allow users to change switches without soldering; as well as the RGB LEDs themselves, which create over 16 million unique colors for brilliant backlighting. Take a quick look at reviews for the CTRL, and you’ll see that the PCBA handles these responsibilities at a near-unrivaled level of performance. If you’re looking to build a board on that same level, this is your flagship foundation.
Take your PCBA one step closer to a completed board with a set of Panda Gold-Plated Stabilizers from Everglide. True to their name, these stabilizers feature gold-plated alloy wires, which have superior hardness and oxidation resistance compared to traditional metal wires. The stabilizers themselves are made from a lightweight and durable polymer and manufactured in a high-precision mold to minimize noise when typing.
