The keyboard you need to buy!
Buy a bare bones keyboard and buy your own switches! Totally recommend that, it's cheaper and you'll end up with backup switches just in case one or two get funny years later into use! This keyboard is absolutely stunning in its machined aluminum frame. Everything is sturdy, build quality is astounding. The finish everywhere is pleasing to the touch. The keyboard has QMK firmware which makes it more or less fully customizable! Switches can easily be hotswapped which is awesome if you want to buy different switches or replace them. FYI most switches can be bought for pretty cheap. I love the caliber of RGB brightness, diffusion, and customization on this board. Overall one of my favorite purchases I've made beside buying shares of TSLA!

Decent quality for the price - Space Grey
This is a great starter board with hot-swap. Great accessories kit including: Keycap puller, magnetic back stands, USB-C cable. Will grab another unit again given the chance.

What kind of switches can I use with this - PCB mount or plate mount?
They are Plate mounted, but if you get PCB mounted switches you can just cut off the two extra thingys, i forget the words for them
Is there a full sized version in the works?
There is the Drop SHIFT which is a full sized keyboard, but the only barabones version of the SHIFT available as of now is the high profile version.

Like it, would like to see better software support
The board itself is excellent quality, but as some others have said, I'd definitely like to see a more robust software solution that doesn't require flashing.

Enjoying this board so far
I now have two of these CTRL keyboards. First, I ordered it in Space Gray, and, because I wanted different switches and keycaps, chose the barebones. Within a couple of months of receiving it and putting the switches and caps on, I saw that there were different color options of the case, so I ordered one of those in purple. Then later, lamented that I'd have a case sitting around collecting dust, so I ordered a PCB, a diffuser, and stabs, more switches and caps, and made my second board. My only complaint really, is the fact that the default lighting options are pretty basic, and, to be frank, kind of boring. I looked into QMK and figured out how pick a different keymap with more lighting options, and reflashed the board to get what I want, which is some reactive lighting. It's still sort of basic (only one color unless I go with rainbow), but a step closer to what I was looking for, particularly for such a pricey piece of hardware.

Worth it's Money!
Typically I'm not a huge fan of putting a ton of money into a keyboard just cause I'm flourishing with money, however I decided this year for my birthday I would treat myself and try to make my own keyboard. I ended up getting some Khali Cream switches and some placeholder keycaps until I end up getting more money. I can say that this board is pretty close to what I was looking for in total, of course the hotswap feature is almost a must have for me because I am just not willing to spend the time learning how to solder, and then actually end up doing the soldering myself. The quality of the materials used is fantastic, absolutely no flex (of course it is a metal frame) and sturdy feeling components, admittedly I didn't take it apart all of the way to inspect the foam that is under but from what I can tell just from typing on it, the foam is relatively quality. The only reason I'm giving this board a 4 star is because I there is a slightly unpleasant ping when typing, I suspect this has to do with the fact that my switches are currently unlubed, but until I resolve that the review will stay a 4 star just in case. Either way I can say what you pay is what you get here. Also if you're going to buy this board be aware, they send you both keyswitch pullers and keycap pullers, no need to go on amazon and spend an extra couple bucks on something you will not use.

High Quality construction, Good Heft, Expected price-point
I'm very pleased with this purchase, as my first foray into a hot-swap KB. I do wish there were taller pads

High quality keyboard base, slight price premium
The keyboard base is high quality and made out of sturdy metal; however it's more expensive than its worth. In particular, the RGB functionality leave a lot to be desired in terms of customisability.

A good overall package
I have the slim case CTRL and it is very nice. The quality of the components is good and I'm glad Drop chose aluminum instead of a plastic. The CTRL is very easy to work with, both the disassembly and reassembly went smoothly and Drop has done a great job designing this board. It's a small, irrelevant detail to some, but the magnetic feet are wonderful and having two USB-C ports can make it easier for the cable to reach. Some areas that the CTRL could improve would be including screw-in stabilizers, foam or silicone sound dampening material, south-facing LEDs on the PCB, and 5-pin switch compatibility. Overall, the Drop CTRL is a good option for a barebones TKL keyboard, but there are plenty of other viable offerings on the market including some that are cheaper. If you want a keyboard that has a sleek and simple design that won't give you any trouble, the Drop CTRL is worth considering.

I love this Keyboard
I have had this keyboard for about a year. I got it because I started working in programs that had shortcuts that were made difficult to use effectively on a 60%. I wasn't too keen on the idea of going back to a bigger board as I have limited space. Since the day I got this keyboard it has been my daily driver. I love this. Buy it. Seriously.
