PulsturaI wouldn't get these if these were 5 pins. 3 Pins works both ways, but once you clip old switches you can't even switch out for past switches you might have clipped.
PulsturaYeah if you want a loose switch. Makes a lot more sense the other way around.
3pin switch on a pcb mount meant for 5 pin instead of a plate mount? I luled
Andy.kThis board has a plate for the switches. So a plate mount switch shouldn’t be anymore loose on a PCB that allows 5 pin. The additional 2 holes shouldn’t impact the stability of a plate mount switch.
Andy.kI have used plate mount switches and clipped pcb mount switches on an NK65 (5 pin) pcb, a GMMK (3pin), and DZ60 build with both non-hotswap and hotswap PCB's and have no loose switches. I can maybe see switches being loose if on a plateless build, but on KB's with a plate, it shouldn't make any difference unless the plate itself is crap and has poor tolerances.
I agree with Pulstura. any chance you guys might consider coming out with an option of a 5 pin hot-swappable pcb like RAMA and Monstargear do with their boards? The main reason I ask is because since this is a hot-swappable, you obviously can swap switches anytime you want. The problem comes with what to do with the switches you took out that you don't longer need. When you go and try to sell these, they will now lose some value just because not a lot of people are willing to buy 3 pin switches in places like r/mechmarket. 5 pin switches will always sell faster than the 3 pin ones.

whricomWe'll absolutely consider it, but no ETA to provide on changes.
PulsturaThat’s what actually prompted me to return an alt. As long as they sell 3-pin I’m staying away and even swayed 2 friends away from drop over it — one went kbdfans the other novelkeys
