Product Description
The Drop CTRL High-Profile is just like the original CTRL, but now it comes with a tall CNC-aluminum case that covers the switches. Machined to be 6-degrees, the case is ergonomically crafted for a natural feel—and it’s quite a bit heavier than before Read More

@han@YanboWu any word on when this will be re-released? trying to find one being sold by others is like finding a needle in a haystack. Ty for any info
Hey Friends,
There had been a lot of requests for this ever since the High-Profile ALT launched last month. It was a project we’ve already been working on and I’m excited to share that with everyone today.
The CTRL High-Profile will ship with the same features that made the CTRL awesome - the firmware will be based on QMK and will be programmable with our online configurator (https://www.massdrop.com/mechanical-keyboards/configurator). The keyboard will also have RGB per key lighting and mid diffuser LED lighting. The CTRL High-Profile also has dual USB C connections that function as an USB hub and the PCB will ship with Kaihua hotswap sockets to allow for easy switch swapping.
The thing that sets this beast apart is the high profile form factor. The switch tops and the bottom of the keycaps are now covered by the lip around the keyboard. To achieve this, we are machining the top out of a far larger block of aluminum and the whole keyboard weighs almost 5 lbs. Some of the more intricate machining has increased the machining time to 20x that of the original CTRL.
Regarding the form factor between the high-profile walls and the switches: the design does allow for a bit of gap - which is important to ensure all the features on this keyboard are actually functional. The first is that the gap is integral for allowing a switch puller to fit around the switch and utilize the hot-swap function. Second, the gaps do allow for more ambient LED lighting to peek through, which highlights the awesome lighting for this keyboard.
Thanks for your interest and support - none of this would be possible without you and the continued support of the mech keys community at large.
Lastly, a few administrative notes on this drop: The drop is set to end on November 23. However, we will be doing a payment capture on October 31 so we can initiate purchasing of raw materials. If this is an issue for you, please join after November 1.
YanboWuDamn, got one on the first drop and wanted to buy two more on the second drop but only bought one more. Give us another drop MD and I'll buy two more this time!
YanboWuAny idea on when we'll be able to buy this WITHOUT keycaps and switches? I don't want ANY of the switches presented as an option.

The next shipment of CTRL HPs is expected to be delivered to our warehouse around the middle of this month (August). If you are still waiting for your order, you can expect shipping to begin towards the end of the month.
i mean is there warranty? I think we have our answer if you want one it is 50 haha. It would seem to be the case LOL. why is such a simple question not answered and my question is who's paying 300 for a keyboard w/o a warranty. the fact that this isn't answered is driving me away from drop all together. What a weird company.
15+ days since support promised the barebones was to be offered, yet it’s still not up. Citing things like photographs needing to be taken.
After of course this was after they first launched this page with the barebones as a non functioning option.
The majority of the comments are still just people begging for it.
Meanwhile this drop ends in 9 days.
Stay classy m’drop. If this was my job I’d have been fired for gross incompetence.
This kind of attitude is why I generally avoid buying on Drop. What a mess.

It's both. We have it available for pre-order now (https://drop.com/buy/drop-ctrl-high-profile-barebones-keyboard), but the fulfillment timeline is the same as this one because they're all produced in the same batch. Units not accounted for from pre-orders will be sold in-stock.
I want to say mine was "reserved for shipment" 2 days after estimated July 20 ship date. Status changed to "shipped" on the 23rd, got tracking number the same day.
Is anyone else still waiting for their shipment? I ordered on 6/1 and it's been radio silent on Drop's end... I wish Drop were being more transparent about this. Based on some of these comments, it seems like others who ordered after me may have already received their board.
Sorry for the additional wait as a result of mishandling your order. We recognize and understand that it's not a good customer experience. It's not always so easy to avoid issues such as this, even across multiple instances. We are always seeking continuous improvement and we work to minimize poor experiences such as yours. Yet, things will inevitably go wrong from time to time and some customers will get the short end of the stick. Some are forgiving and some are not. We also recognize that our communication should be better, but most of the time, people are more preoccupied with fixing these issues on hand than with providing updates for them. It can look like we're ignoring people when it isn't the case. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Hey, I found a way to make free energy! We will never have to pollute again! I can also make food out of thin air, no more hunger ever! I won't show you it or prove it, but it still expect you to believe it, and if you don't you are just a stubborn baby who is obviously wrong in this situation because I know I can do it. Like I said I won't prove what I am saying, I just expect you to believe it. I won't back it up with any facts at all, it's just true and you just have to believe it.
That’s what actually prompted me to return an alt. As long as they sell 3-pin I’m staying away and even swayed 2 friends away from drop over it — one went kbdfans the other novelkeys
