Great fit for me
A great keyboard for me looks good, works great out-of-the-box, has a low(-ish) profile and types fantastic. This keyboard delivers. I love the look and build quality. The typing experience is also great. As a bonus it can grow with me as a learn more about switches and mechanical keyboards. The only thing that I personally would like is a wireless option. The RGB is nice, but not a must for me. I do like the USB-C passthrough though. On a side note: first time using the Halo clears but I love it so far!
It would be 5 stars if there was less "ping" sound, better stabilisers and better RGB light consistency.
+ Perfect look (for me). Minimal, relatively low profile and very sleek.
+ Build is great. Feels really sturdy. Keycaps seem to have a great quality too (but I'm really new to keyboards).
+ Customisability; from the cable placement, to the hot-swappable switches. You can really make it your own.
+ Great size. I'm a programmer that uses the F-keys as shortcuts, but I don't like the numpad because it pushes the mouse further away. This keyboard is a perfect solution (numpad on the left could also be an amazing solution though.. Any plans? :P)
+ Love the magnetic feet. It's part of the customisability, but wanted to mention it specifically. Works great, looks great, feels great. No issues while moving the keyboard.
- Stabilisers don't feel great.
- Keyboard has a lot of "pinging" sounds.
- Light doesn't shine through all the keycaps in the same way, making some harder to read in the dark then others (also mentioned in mixed below)
± Software. As a developer I love the simplicity of the current solution. Just configure, download en execute in the terminal. That said, a piece of dedicated software for those that want a bit more won't be the worst thing.
± RGB. I'm not the biggest fan in general, but I do like it if done right (and as backlight in the dark of course). The RGB on the CTRL is just fine. Brightness and color options are good and the side strip is a fun idea. The main issues for me is that "white" is a bit blue, the side strip could be diffused a bit more evenly, and the light doesn't light up all keys evenly.
Would recommend to a friend.
