The last keyboard I'll ever need
My keyboard history: Keyboard #1: Ducky - LEDs died within a year. A piece of junk, but hooked me on mechanical keyboards. Keyboard #2: WASD Code - great keyboard, lasted for a couple of years, but (a) the ABS keys eventually wore through and (b) there are better switches than Cherry MX Browns, so . . . Keyboard #3: CTRL - fantastic keyboard. Outfitted with Hako Royal Clears for most of the keys, except for some keys (like Enter) which got a Kailh Box Navy (for a little click) and some keys (like the shift keys) which got Hako True Violets (my pinkies don't bang the keys as hard as the rest of my fingers). The CTRL is probably the last keyboard I'll ever need. Don't like the switches? Swap 'em out! Don't like the backlight colors? Reprogram 'em. Don't like they keycaps? Buy new ones. Now all I need is a 21-key numeric keypad to match it. (NUM Mechanical Keyboard, anyone?) UPDATE Feb 2, 2021: Still love this keyboard. No double-typing issues (yet). Still waiting for a matching keypad . . .

Would recommend to a friend.
Got mine yesterday and couldn’t be happier with it. The board is absolutely gorgeous. Everything works great and the led features and bright and vibrant. 10/10 would buy again but I hope they don’t make it again so I can lord it over all my friends hahaha. Can’t wait to get some of the key caps I’m waiting on from massdrop to customize it. https://massdrop-s3.imgix.net/img_comment/KYTRtoIPQCGI18hj6g00_E3A52633CE0D49E989AE43FE76796CEE.jpeg

Can I change the keycaps on this keyboard?
Not just the keycaps. You can also change the switches to your liking.
Is this keyboard loud?
It depends on what switches are installed. The switches are easy to change with the included switch removal tool.

Failed after 18 months, terrible customer service
Keyboard worked well until it didn’t. Liked it at first though I had to build a wrist rest because it’s really tall. Got cherry brown switches. Liked the customizable lights. But last week it would not turn on. Tried new cables, computer, leaving it unplugged overnight to no avail. Contacted support and they told me I was SOL as it was out of warranty period and recommended I try looking up how I might fix it on Reddit or Discord. What a horrible customer support experience for a $180 keyboard! Now I have a dead keyboard and will surely be telling others how poorly Drop treats their users.

Great Gift For Beginners
Bought it for an uncle who's not super into keyboards but wanted to replace his Razer board. Says he likes pretty well and is a good introduction into this hobby if he so chooses. He already replaced the stock caps with some custom ones. However he did have some problems with connection dropping out every now and then. It's not consistent so he's still using it with no complaints.

First board, Perfect for the RGB lover, which I am.
I want to start this off this was my FIRST custom/swappable board purchase. I made some decisions that I learned from, and understand now, I got exactly what I ordered. All in all great product and loved the build quality. It is nice and heavy and never moves when typing or gaming. I like the removable feet as I travel with mine and the ability to remove them to slip them into the DROP travel sleeve is made easy. I can't speak to the firmware as I have not dabbled into that functionality. I had full intentions for this to be a project board to test stuff on. The linear switches (grey stems) were fine, but I did hold out for those hand lubed 'Holy Panda X' Drop offered later on. After installing the new switches, the board (as a whole) went from a 9 to a 10. I was still learning about linear and tactile switches and went linear out of the box as it seemed safer. Installing my tactile (Drop Holy Panda X) switches was super easy and didn't take long at all. While I had everything I did also experiment with new stabilizers and foams. The board itself is what I am reviewing and it was fantastic. LOVE the RBG functionality as what is in the box (lighting patterns) is good enough for me. Maybe if I went further into re-flashing firmware, I may have a different view. Small tweaking was necessary due to my own choices (linear vs tactile switch choice), BUT IT WAS EASY TO DO, the whole point of having a hot-swappable board.

Rigidity with a hint of Beauty
This keyboard was the first I've purchased that has options of modding. As simple as it comes last me for an entire year until a switch failed. Yet a simple swap of the switch (all of them lol). Had allowed me to really unlock the ability of the keyboard. I recommend the keyboard to anyone who is looking into it.

Very good overall, just a few issues
I had a few tiny firmware issues here and there and the documentation is a nightmare to sift through, all in all very good though, would give 4.5 if possible

Good value on sale
Like the profile and the LEDS. Solid weight and usable USB ports on either side. Would recommend for starting out. Does have 3 pin hotswap instead of 5, so keep in mind when buying new switches. The speed sliver are kind of heavy linear, but that's all preference

Starting point
Solid and high quality. You can program the ligths the way you would like it. So, awesome... so far. This is my very 1st keyboard ever. Just getting started. May have to get more key caps. Awesome! I always used the keyboards that come with the desktops and not knowing about keyboard so much... I am sure glad that I purchased.
