ok really disliking the colour as shown in pictures. Anyone can comment how it compares to MacBook space gray? I have had to pay massive customs charge (almost 1/3 the value of the keyboard) so it coming in as silver as opposed to any kind of gray is false advertisement and I will be looking for a refund or chargeback form CC.
Between this, a broken z70 after months of use the white fox debacle I think I am done with keyboards through Massdrop. Great in theory but always leave a sour taste in the mouth for some reason or other.
vrapanIt definitely isn't silver as it is darker than my surface book for example. The CTRL has more of a shine to it than other aluminum cases I've seen though which will make it seem even lighter in photos than it is.
That said it isn't the slate gray from the renders.
Edit: if you look at this picture https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-ctrl-mechanical-keyboard/talk/2181564 it is the color around the arrow keys rather than the silver of the function row.
Edit 2: the update form 2 months ago gives a good idea of how the angle changes the color a bit and there is a mac in the photo https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-ctrl-mechanical-keyboard/talk/2115609
ryan92084Thanks if it is anything like the second set of pictures I will be happy with it, still darker than a silver Mac which is what I was after. I really did not expect it to be the very dark grey (near black) that was on the renders based on the pictures that followed up.
My response was mainly based on some pics shown on reddit where the board looks practically silver with bright specs.
ArchanixBut why the "sparkly" finish tho... I can understand if it is brighter than the render because the light and everything. but I can't recall anything in the render that suggest a sparkly texture for the case...
