can someone tell me what keys or combos need to be pressed to change the LED colours. Or does the keyboard use software?

ScottemzThere should be a card in the box that tells you the keys.
FN + X turns them on and off
FN + Z toggles the light zones (everything, just keys, just edges, or just caps and scroll lock)
FN+ A or D scroll through the lighting modes.
FN + W or S changes brightness,
FN + E or Q changes effect speed.
FN + Tab enables Fade Effect
FN + Caps Lock changes effect direction.
There is a configurator they are releasing that I believe allows you to make custom lighting modes as well.
