To begin, the build quality is very solid. Keyboard has a good feel and weight to it. I love the magnetic feet, too. Nice touch! Sadly, things went downhill from there. The aluminum body is a very light shade of silver, similar to the silver MacBook Pro. Not anything close to the dark gray in the renders, which was one of the main selling points for me.
The white LEDs on mine look more like a dull pink or purple than white. Very disappointing, because my Corsair K65 RGB displays a much whiter white. After cycling through the color choices, the all yellow looked best to me.
I got the Kaihua Silver switches on my CTRL. They felt somewhat stiff and mushy compared to the Cherry MX Silver switches on my K65. Overall, I give the keyboard a 6.5/10. I really wanted to like it better, believe me. I just expected more for a $200 purchase. I planned on using the CTRL to replace my Corsair, but the K65 stays.
Massdrop support (Dave S.) was very responsive. I requested an RMA for refund and it was granted three days later. I already had sold mine to another MD member, so I got back my $$ in a different way.
I appreciate the effort MD put into this project and encourage them to keep trying. I'd be very interested in something like the CTRL with a choice of single-color LEDs and Cherry MX switches.

jswriterI can understand your complaint about the LED and I can agree with it....but comparing a Kailh switch with Cherry MX lol....thinking Kailh be same as Cherry MX that's entirely your fault due to ignorance. Kailh switches are cheap for a reason. They are known as " Cherry MX knock offs " for a good reason as well.

gh0st47Perhaps you can point out exactly where I claimed the Cherry and Kaihua switches would or should perform exactly the same. I'll make it easy for you: I didn't. It's called compare and contrast, simpleton.

jswriterYou did compared it and you're disappointed with it what other meaning is there to it then ? " They felt somewhat stiff and mushy compared to the Cherry MX Silver switches on my K65. " And if you weren't expecting the same thing why were you even complaining and comparing with with Cherry MX switches and Silver specifically ? I wonder' who's the ignorant simpleton idiot here. I say it's good you wasted money due yo your ignorance.

gh0st47You have an incredible talent for responding to what you imagine instead of what actually was written. I'll give you credit for your copy and paste skills. You got my quote right, but you clearly misunderstand the difference between comparison and dissatisfaction. It's obvious that reading comprehension is a foreign concept to you. Pick up a dictionary before you take to your keyboard, again. And, I got $200 for the keyboard. I paid $175. That's called a profit, simpleton. Look up the word in your new dictionary.
