Just got mine. Works fine with the USB-A to USB-C cable. However, I was hoping to use my shorter USB-C (TB3) cable and this doesn't work at all. Anyone know why this might be?

obfuscurityIt could be that you are using a Thunderbolt 3 cable instead of USB C. The two interfaces are not the same thing and there can be compatibility issues (even though the connectors are the same).
Here is a picture of the CTRL been connect via USB C to the computer and the Pixel 2XL been connected via the hub port.

I've tested the Anker USB C to C cable on Amazon and they definitely work for the keyboard - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WNXY1R

YanboWuAh, that was precisely it. I assumed that it supported TB3 in addition to "regular" USB-C. Thanks!

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?

I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
