TunamanHow reasonable are they with the whole process? Are they receptive to the fact that we've gotten screwed over on a defective $200 purchase? I utterly fuming right now that mine arrived with dead LEDs on the rim lighting.
TunamanWhat happened with the old keyboard? Did you have to send it back? If so, did they make you send it back before the new one arrived?
My LED lighting is all screwed up, but the keyboard is otherwise fine. I don't want to be out $200 AND a keyboard for however long it takes to get the replacement. That's why I was curious how they handle this whole thing.
Urano_MetriaMy issue is simple. I’m just missing an “M” keycap. I still have the keyboard now, and they’re sending a new one. I know, for just a keycap, but they said they don’t have any extra, so they’re sending a new one. Once I get it, they include a prepaid label to ship back through their RMA process. No shortage of keyboard throughout the entire process.
TunamanSounds like EVGA's RMA cross shipping, and how Amazon handles standard replacements. This is what I like to hear. I really appreciate the information, thanks.
Urano_MetriaWell I still haven't heard from them and I left them an email over a week ago. After this experience it is likely I wont being buying a "massdrop" made item.
jareman384Dang, that's really painful and unfortunate to hear. I really don't want to have to get my bank involved for the refund if Massdrop is unresponsive for the replacement. I still at least want the option of shopping on Massdrop in the future, and they'll probably suspend my account if I have to chargeback.
Urano_MetriaWell I just got a reply and they are not offering to send me a keyboard. I can either keep it and still spend 150+ bucks on a broken keyboard or send it in for a full refund. So I guess I have to send it in for a full refund. So basically because Massdrop cant QC there shit I basically wasted time/money.
JoncolecioWell I’m contacting my credit card company looks like I’m getting a free busted up CTRL keyboard!! Might sell it later for $200 make double and build two boards out of this trash.
jareman384At this point I'm only accepting a replacement board or a steep discount to keep it. It's been over a week since the transaction posted to my account, so I am debating on whether or not I should start the chargeback process before they offer me the delusional refund.
Urano_MetriaPlease keep us updated with how it goes for you or what you choose. This is my first time on Massdrop getting myself what I thought was a high-end keyboard...
Ended up paying around $250 (Yay Customs and Tax) for it to arrive with a visible scratch on the front, and barley working (Now completely broken) edge lighting. Seeing all the other issues people are having, and the lackluster response times - I am very disappointed, and nervous that I'm going to be left shafted. $200 for this experience...
Gam_MouThis was my first time ordering from massdrop because friends have told me about their horrible stories but I was stupid enough to do it... It's really sad on Massdrop how they screw over people. I really wanna take this to the better business bureau as well. Maybe next time massdrop will stand by the products they're selling.
Urano_MetriaThey offered me a full refund or a $30 refund if keep the board. Took the latter, since I don't want the hassle (and expense) of sending the board back. So yeah, they scammed me out of $225, plus the 5 month wait. Great service!
Urano_MetriaWell, it's been a month since I contacted support, and they still haven't shipped the replacement. Last week I was notified the replacement was about to be shipped. Today, after contacting support, they told me it was backordered.
At this rate, maybe I'll get a replacement next year, if at all. My original board had Cherry browns, but since they don't have those in inventory I was willing to accept a replacement with Halo Clears, which means I lose an additional $25. And yet they still don't send the replacement.
On every communication, they keep repeating the line about a full refund. At this point, the only way I'll accept a full refund is if I keep both the defective board and the money.
lebrunI just had to deal with Massdrop support again regarding this keyboard (due to double/triple registering of 2(@) key) and they got back to me within an hour. Within 2 hours after that, they already issued a replacement with an RMA slip. I can’t say I’ve had the same experience as you with massdrop. They’ve been very supportive throughout my time contacting them for issues.
