Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. - there is a defect on the case, not a nick/scratch, more like physical damage that occurred - RGB customization is not what I would have hoped, have to flash firmware for certain colors until software is released - magnetic feet seem like a nice idea, but the feet tend to come off if you slide the keyboard on a desk mat without picking it up - little too lightweight for my taste - keycaps felt really rough, was already going to replace them, but definitely not comfortable and very distracting while typing - they include a wire keycap puller, but its extremely low quality; the handle unscrews to become an allen wrench, but the fit is so loose it just pops out and is unusable as a handle, therefore unusable as keycap puller
Doesn't feel like $200 is the right price point for what was put out, in terms of the finished product and quality assurance. Hopefully they put more attention into the ALT keyboard.
At this point you'll have obviously lost your ellen wrench, but usually you don't need it -- and if you do, chances are you have one at home.
