Hello everyone, So my CTRL just arrived. I've been having a considerable amount of issues with it that lead me to believe it might be power related. The keyboard will sometimes just shut off - reboot fixes it. My Corsair Sabre mouse no longer works unless I unplug it and plug it back in after each boot of my PC When I'm typing, one key at random might repeatedly press itself endlessly The only way I could even get the keyboard to be recognized by my computer was by plugging into the yellow "charging" usb port on my motherboard. Any help would really be appreciated. Would an external powered USB hub fix this issue?

CharbleeYes, a powered USB hub will likely fix the connectivity issues. For the chattering switch (repeated outputs), try reseating the switch, swapping it with a known good switch to see if the behavior follows the switch, and/or replacing the problematic switch.

Hey, thank you for your response. The powered USB hub actually fixed all of the issues (included the repeated key presses). Out of curiosity, how are most people powering these things? Is my situation a one-off (needing a powered hub)?

CharbleeI don't know how most people are powering them. I wish I had that data - it'd be helpful. Your situation is not a one-off. Reports of similar behavior come in consistently and using a powered USB hub to ensure the keyboard gets a dedicated 5V typically solves it.

Ah ok. I love this product now that it's working. Having said that, I wish there was clear and easy to find documentation that told people before they bought it / upon arrival like "HEY...THIS THING SUCKS DOWN A LOT OF POWER!!!! Don't freak out if it isn't working." I sure did...

Hi @Elbert, do you happen to have some specifications on the actual power consumption of the Drop CTRL keyboard (in Watt, or the amps required in conjunction to the 5V voltage)? I also confirm that the keyboard does not work on non-powered USB ports, as it works fine when connected directly to my computer and doesn't with my KVM (it's diagnostics also seem to hint toward the keyboard being too power-hungry for proper functioning).
