mate.jamesThe price is $199 and the drop will re-open for orders next week (Sept 5th). Delivery is still spring 2019, so a bit of a wait but worth it.
The X-Mid is a super deal considering it has higher end materials than the Notch (e.g. water resistant Uretek zippers, which are only found on TarpTent's $679 Stratospire Li tent). Quality is also top notch (same factory as MSR tents). The price is only low because we're producing it in volume and with a smaller mark up.
Compared to the Notch, the X-Mid offers more floor area (similar to the 34oz StratoSpire1), even simpler pitch (compare videos), much more headroom (even more than the StratoSpire 1), more vestibule room, no struts so it packs into any shape, no sag poly fabric, higher end materials and hardware, far more functional vents, fully seam taped, tough #5 zippers rather than door clips which are widely reviewed as tedious, better snow shedding because there are no flat-ish roof panels and higher quality (in my experience). The Notch is slightly lighter (26oz vs 28oz) because it is substantially smaller, but even that advantage diminishes once you seam seal the Notch.
