nice bold blue, hopefully with some legend updates on the way
I like the color scheme overall, but the legends on the mods could definitely be improved. In addition to the kerning issue on the shift (being one of the earlier kits), the thinness of the font doesn't lend itself as well to the blue on gray and can make it a little tough to see. The blue is also very bold, emphasized the DCX's smoother/shinier finish out of the box.
It's still a nice colorway and with some slight tweaks definitely a winner.
I actually won this as well as 35 holy panda switches last year during a promotion that drop was having, I think it was around the holidays. But I never got to use them until now because I did not have a custom keyboard at the time. I finally got the Keychron Q1 this year and finally had a chance to use these. Man, the difference in quality from my old logitech keyboard is insane. I also really like feel of these DCX keycaps over the ones that come with keychron. The spacebar that comes with the keychron is extremely loud, I think because it's bigger and therefore more hollow space, but this spacebar sounds perfect. I also make much less typos which these keycaps. Holy Panda switches are amazing as well.
Anyways, thank you for getting me into custom keyboards, Drop! I probably would've never taken the plunge if I hadn't won these switches and keycaps. Now I don't think I can ever go back.
I went for the Camillo because I've never been one who's been entirely sold on a classic themed set, but I do love blue; this provides a beautiful blend of the two. You get a versatile, otherwise largely neutral palette with just a pop of color in the accents and sub-legends.
I love the DCX profile. They're nice and shallow and are great quality. Really happy with my purchase, as always, with the DCX series and really happy with the Camillo set in general.
My set is before the revised modifier legends or alice space bars, but over all, really well kitted out for the price and in general, good legends. And the colors are spot on.
DCX keycaps are a great alternative to GMK keycaps if you are chasing that crisp ABS sound with pretty decent kitting, lettering, and colors. This Camillo set is definitely among the DCX keycaps I enjoy.
