They say the bluest part of a flame, right at its tip, is the hottest. For our DCX profile, the bluest keycap set to date, now right at your fingertips, is certainly the hottest Read More
The blue on these are really nice. They look very close to the photos in person.
I have them on a silver Bridge75 Plus. Looks, feels, and sounds fantastic.
Like other DCX sets, this is very well designed and manufactured, with consistent and legible legends, nice thick keycaps, reasonable coverage across many keyboards, and a really nice colour. The colour is about the same as the photos suggest - this makes a change from the other gem-inspired sets where most of them are much darker in real life, these ones are pretty much spot on, and a really, really nice shade of blue.
Where it is let down is the coverage - there are insufficient keycaps to suit even a Drop-designed keyboard. Most notably there is no "Menu" key at all, despite the issue having been raised with Drop a long time ago, so this set cannot even fit Drop;s own Ctrl keyboard, which needs a 1.25x "Menu" key. There are also no blanks to put in place of the missing "Menu" key.
Nor can I put these on my CODE, Womier, Skyloong or SmartDuck keyboards due to the lack of a "Menu" key. Or the recently designed CTSM80, which also has a "Menu" key.
DCX is also supposed to offer Mac-compatibility i.e. a handful of keycaps with Mac legends on them (at least according to the Drop story on designing DCX keycaps - see https://drop.com/talk/107374/kicking-off-with-the-classic-black-on-white). Where are the Mac keys? Not included with this set, unfortunately.
Overall a great set, but be prepared to make some compromises if you have a keyboard with a "Menu" key.
Packaging is very neat. Keycaps are kept in place and very convenient to pick up.
The real keycaps are color accurate. It iscwhat I anticipated so I like it.
The overall quality is comparable to a GMK set at a much cheaper price.
Hope drop will release more sets with some unique color schemes.
I received DCX Sapphire as a review unit, so I’ve been using it for a week or so now—the color is a beautiful blue that is quite close to Striker as @Fiv3Score mentioned (Sapphire is slightly lighter and slightly more vibrant).
I own several DCX sets, and the packaging, legend sharpness, and texture have been consistent between all of them, even though my purchases/receipt of them are separated by a year or more.
My only nit, and one specific to someone like me that has multiple true HHKB layout boards, is that the lack of a 6UC spacebar (or spacebar kit) makes this a little less useful to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Took some pics + comparisons to GMK Masterpiece and GMK Striker. (The spacebar is the accent colored spacebar from Striker.) Hope they help!
These keycaps are easily my favorite I have ever bought, period. The only “downside” is that the blue is ever so slightly darker in person. Aside from that, they are a wonderful keycap set, and have a reasonable price as well.
