Quality Earpads, nice foam and feeling
I Bought the Hybrid Velour pads for the HD 58x, as to replace the stock pads, that to be fair even if sound with them can be called "Better", foam is of low quality and they do wear easily, also cleaning full velour is tough.
On the other hand, this pads are more comfortable, can initially increase clamping just a little bit as I would say they are more thicker than stock, but comfort wise the worth it, now, sound quality, for me did not change that much, it is true that base can be boosted by a marginal amount, but Mids are still the star of the show as the 6 series should be. Overall I recommend them even if they seem pricey, quality is definetely higher than stock or something like Brainwavz pads, and for the price the definitely should be
Would recommend to a friend.
I got the Hybrid Velour pads.
Thanks friend, I'm really considering getting the Hybrid Velours for my HD 650.
People complaint a lot for the 6XX (which is basically a cheaper 650) with the fenestrated, that it changes the sound a lot, for me the hybrid ones tame the highs a little bit by having the driver further away from the ear being ticker than stock, and so, bass has a little more impact, so I feel less harshness ( there was barely some in some recordings with the stock ones), mids do feel recessed a little compared to the weared out stock pads, but really just a little by a marginal amount and I think is due to the base having a little more impact with sub base having a little more body.
Overall I feel the comfort is worth the sound change as I do not feel that it really changes that much and I think change is mostly due to ticker foam and the material of the internal piece. It did not make the headphones a completely new one for me, but just wanted to warn you as a lot of people complaint for that.
