Great Comfort
Got the elite velour. It improved the "hotness" drastically. The stock pad comfort was bearable but i am staying at hot&humid place, so my ears started sweating after 3 to 4 songs. For people who faced this problem, this earpad is a perfect option because i can wear this pads for hours without experiencing discomfort. However, i would say that it affected the sound a lot. Mainly it turned the headphones to semi closed back, so you lost the tight bass. Somehow the timbre is also not as natural. It does increase the soundstage by an obvious margin. For me, it is a fair tradeoff

Solid replacements
Got a set of the 'Elite Velour' cups, and they're exactly what'd you'd expect; comfy, don't compress too much, fit great, and change the sound profile quite a bit. Compared to the stock pads they let in vastly more noise / room which takes a tiny bit of getting used to, but they're also lot less claustrophobic and sweat-inducing.

Absolutely awesome!
Love the extra set of earpads and makes me want to get the fenestrated sheepskin pair too! Well built, quality materials and worth it!

Overall not bad, need to EQ them out
In case this helps anyone, for the the Sheepskin pads, my impressions only, you are looking at:
  • Way more spacious sound, the soundstage really opens up compared to the stock pads (those were quite claustrophobic)
  • A lot more lower bass, though the mids and treble get recessed a lot
  • All other frequencies but bass are basically gone, they get drowned out, you'll need some sort of EQ to get those back
  • Passive noise isolation seems better than the stock pads, good for noisy commutes etc.
  • Comfort sucks, these pads are stiff, the stock pads feel like a soft pillow on your ears, these do not, though maybe they'll get better over time.

What a boost to my Oppo Pm3's
Bought the fenestrated sheepskin pads to replace the (rapidly) disintegrating and no longer available originals on my Oppo PM3's. The new Drop pads are the correct size but do not clip directly to the Oppo's. I have glued the new pads to the old pads mounting plate. Works perfect. This results in about 3mm increase in the total pad thickness and a dramatic increase in sound stage. The quality and comfort of these pads are excellent.

Definite upgrade from the stock
Fenestrated Sheepskin: A huge improvement in terms of the temperature regulation. I hated how hot stock pads get. These are a definite improvement. They are a bit firmer than stock, but still wish they were a bit thicker for my ears not to touch earcup. I use fish tank tubes to elevate the pads a bit, which helps. I do not notice a significant change in tonality.

Garbage
They were solid before the new firmware update. Since the audio quality has deteriorated and the volume is at about 60% of what it once was.

This makes Panda better
I just hate how the feel of synth leather pushes against my head when wearing headphones, it's so uncomfortable and sweaty. So I got the hybrid one to keep the lower range sound but still be able to get more comfortable at the same time. And yes, this feels much better than the standard one. OK, the soundproofing is worsened a little bit, but I normally listen in a quiet environment anyway so this is not my concern. About changing out and installing these optional earpads. It's not that easy but also not hard either. Too bad Drop didn't include any instructions about how to do so. So I have to try pulling the original earpad off my Panda myself. I have found a bit of adhesive on the earpads themselves and a little on the prongs on the headphone but I don't think this adhesive is for keeping the earpads in place. Instead, I think it's there to stick between the earpad cushion and the plastic piece. So, the adhesive is really there but almost makes no diffence.

Velour pads aren't really velour.
It's a nice comfortable material but I don't think it's velour. The comfort is nice, but the way these change the sound isn't so great to me. I may try buying the sheepskin ones later.

Love it
The hybrid has a more firm cushioning, plush feel, great sound. Because of the firm pads, there’s a bit more space for the ears, although the percieved pressure is also a bit higher but it’s still super comfortable. I was worried about the replacement but it is very easy and straightforward to replace the original pads, although some simple graphical instructions would be good. Overall: Well done!
