From gaming to working, streaming to schooling, every online activity deserves a high-quality headset. And so does every budget. Redefining the entry level with exceptional performance, we teamed up with celebrated gaming brand EPOS to build the Drop + EPOS H3X: a truly impressive headset, for everyone.
I wouldn't use these for gaming - the mic is decent but sensitive to background noise. Audio is good but a little hollow for gaming or even music. Band is pretty tight at first but I have a big head.
This is easily the best headset I have used within this price range. The sound clarity is great throughout the range and the microphone is really good. The change in my microphone was instantly noticeable to my friends. I came from a Razer Nari Wireless that was $134.99 new when I bought it a long time ago. For almost half the price you just can't beat it. It's incredibly comfortable over long periods of time. The construction is mostly plastic, but it still feels like a quality product. Overall it's a great headset and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.
This headset works lovely with smartphone, but this is not the purpose of this product.
This is a "gaming headset" which mean its suposed to work perfectly with computer. None of my 2 laptops detected the mic. I have an Aero 15x from 2018 and a HP laptop for my job. Both laptops has a jack input for headphone AND mic. When I plug my EPOS H3X to my laptop, the mic isnt not detected while I heard sound. The mic does not work. Therefore, this headset is useless. The drop's support was kind, they sent me another headset, the issue still unsolved.
Even company's IT department failed to understand this issue.
As result I rate those headset 1 star.
The mic of the headset will not work proporly with laptop, this information should have been indicated in the description of the product.
xemeriaSo, I’ve been thinking about this. What happens when you plug the 3.5mm TRRS Steelseries headset into the laptop, you start using whatever app you normally use with the microphone and test to make sure it’s working, then switch it with the 3.5mm TRRS plug of the EPOS headset? Since both headsets work with your smartphone, both should also work with your laptop… the laptop literally can’t distinguish between the two.
There really isn't much to be said that hasn't already been said. I had typed out a large post but decided it was redundant. Having used and currently own the PC37X, PC38X, HD 58X, and HD 6XX, the H3X is superb given it's very aggressive budget pricing. Absolutely would recommend so long as closed back is what you're looking for.
One note that I do feel needs mentioning is that the earpads have a rather small opening, smaller than the PC38X, so if you have bigger sized ears or just prefer more space around your ears these may feel a little cramped. I found them to be great and at times more comfortable than the PC38X however.
I wanted a more comfortable headset with better microphone and clearer sound, coming from a HyperX Cloud Alpha.
I'm happy to say this headset is a lot more comfortable (8 hours of wearing no problem) the microphone is slightly better and the sound has more nuance to it.
In the beginning the earcups pressed a bit too hard against my head, but after stretching the headband gently it's much better now.
The H3X is proof that gaming headsets don't need to be overly bombastic. Clean, accurate sound so you can bop your sick jams while also getting those sweet gamer dubs, bro.

I got this as something to give to one of my friends. I personally have not tried them but the person I gave them to said that they really like them.
They love how they fit around their ears and said it was not heavy on their head after using it steady for a few hours. They told me that they like the directional sound they hear. I think they said they set is a 5.1 surround on their PC.
They own Airpod Pro's for their phone / iPad and Sony WH-1000XM4 that they use for their Switch and used to use for their PC. They wanted something dedicated just for their PC that was wired that was reasonably priced.
Excellent headset, mic clarity, comfort, and design.
Sound is what you expect for this price range, not too bassy which is my preference.
This could have been sold for 120 and I would still think its justified.
qtabibGlad you’re having fun!!
Just a common FYI, if other players are hearing your game audio, it’s usually either the cable isn’t plugged all the way into your computer or there is some software glitch 😅 Note that the cable has a red mark to let you know if it’s plugged in all the way to the headset! But check the other end too. Seems to happen more with tight PC motherboard headphone jacks, less with first party controllers, and PC sound cards/audio products!
I still have my PC37X from 2017, hope yours lasts as long!!
I'm used to using the PC38X headset on a daily basis, and I still use that headset daily. However, when my wife (who sits nearby at her desk) starts up her Facebook videos over her speakers, the usefulness of an open back headset diminishes greatly. :-) I bought this for when I need more sound isolation when playing games and listening for footsteps and enemies.
Comfort:
It certainly has good sound dampening because the earcups fit my head well. At first, the earcups seems very small for my large ears, but once I found a comfortable way to put the back of my ears into the earcups it really seals well. They are pretty light too, so they do not feel too heavy on my head.
Sound:
The headset sounds very good too. It's not as good as my PC38X, but it's very close for a closed back headset. Good enough for me anyway, especially for the price.
Durability:
Although it is largely plastic, it feels unusually sturdy. I wouldn't want to throw them around, but they feel like they would withstand a drop or two from desk height.
Although they may be a great main headset for the money, I use them as a secondary set for when I need a closed back headset, and for that purpose they are great!
