From gaming to working, streaming to schooling, every online activity deserves a high-quality headset. And so does every budget. Redefining the entry level with exceptional performance, we teamed up with celebrated gaming brand EPOS to build the Drop + EPOS H3X: a truly impressive headset, for everyone. A refined take on the popular H3 Gaming Headset—launched by EPOS in 2021—the H3X features several community-inspired design implementations. Front and center is our new tuning, which showcases a meticulously tamed frequency response at both extremes of the spectrum for a more reference-like listening experience—great for more than just gaming. We also added an upgraded hybrid headband from the higher-end H3 Hybrid Gaming Headset, as well as a new red indicator stripe on the end of the cable to show when it’s fully inserted. Together with trademarked EPOS build quality, these features put the closed-back H3X in a class of its own. And at under $100, it’s a class you can’t pass up.
When we approached EPOS about doing an entry-level headset, the existing H3 was our starting point. From there, our approach was simple: incorporate the community and widen the scope. The H3 is undeniably great for gaming—but we wanted a headset that worked just as well for streaming, sitting in on meetings, and even listening to music. That’s why we worked closely with EPOS to refine the tuning and redesign the earpad lining, slightly flattening the frequency response at both ends of the spectrum for a more reference-like character that still maintains the extended bass response of the original H3. The result is expressive audio that sounds great, no matter how you’re listening—or where you’re listening. Engineered with a closed-back build, the H3X keeps your audio contained while keeping outside noise out. It’s also ultra-comfortable, thanks to a community-requested, upgraded headband from the higher-end H3 Hybrid Gaming Headset. Plus, it’s sporting a new red indicator stripe on the end of its cable to always confirm you’re plugged in—as well as a sleek Meteorite colorway that looks good in any setting.
Whether you’re in the game or on the job, audio quality is crucial. Few brands know this better than EPOS: a former division of audio giant Sennheiser, acquired by hearing technology group Demant, and founded with a sole focus in headsets for enterprise and gaming applications. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, EPOS is helmed by the same engineers behind the class-leading PC37X and PC38X headsets. With the same commitment to audio quality that made Sennheiser a standout in audiophile circles, EPOS is raising the bar for performance headsets by optimizing both sides of the sonic experience: communication and immersion.
