Smooth quality. Fit and finish are very high.
I fell in love with the button lock flipper Mordax while watching YouTube videos about it. I ended up with the blue milled version. The action is superb and the button lock has no stick and is very satisfying. I originally wanted the non-milled green, but changed my mind at the last second while ordering. I don’t think I could be disappointed either way. A few nitpicking negatives: one, the detent is just a touch on the soft side. As a knife enthusiast having many flippers, I always get a full deployment with this knife even though it isn’t quite as snappy as I expected. However, several people who have little experience with modern flipper knives have had problems getting the blade to fully deploy. Two, the milled scales are just a little sharp on the milled areas. This can cause mild discomfort if gripping the handle very tightly and could cause excessive wear on your pocket. I enjoy the look of the milling enough to overlook the slight negatives. Choosing the smooth scales would solve those issues and save you about $10 in the end. On the great side, there are very tight tolerances between the blade and aluminum scales when closed and this example has perfect centering. This allows for a rather thin knife over all with a large blade and a light weight handle. Ferrum Forge made a great design and Protech really nailed it in production. I know $240-$270 is an expensive knife for me, but I am satisfied with the design and quality. The last photo I included shows a comparison to a standard Benchmade bugout and a Ferrum Forge-Drop Gent with blue G-10.

BDazzlerYou must not have caught nick shabazz’s review. I too was smitten with the looks of the milled variant, but after hearing how uncomfortable he said it was I opted for the blue, plain handle and after seeing so many lament the sharpness of the milling, I couldn’t be more happy I did. btw, if you like the mordax I finally just snagged a Malibu in the same blue to match and it leaves the Mordax in the dust in basically every measurable (and even some not able to be measured lol) metric. I’m not tied to any knife brand or anything, just a collector who is hyped abt finally getting a Malibu after trying nearly daily for like a year so I’m spreading the good word like a born again Christian proselytizing door to door…hopefully minus the annoyance that usually entails tho lol
