Very light weight and worked fine on my first hike with them
I have them close to max length (I'm 5' 8"), they may not be long enough on down hills for taller hikeers. I have a pair of REI (Leki, I believe) poles I've had close to 20 years. They are heavier but near bullet proof so I was worried these would not be tough enough or may vibrate too much... but I am happy so far. I hiked 8 miles with a small pack over fairly steep trail w/ a few stream crossings, and these poles did great. I am going to need to carry a small piece of rubber or carpet pad to help twist them open or to lock them. Sweaty hands and smooth poles made it really hard to unlock them at the end of my hike. I also found the handles a bit small, and I have a relatively small grip (medium gloves), so I'll be wrapping them with foam or grip tape. For the price at this weight, I am happy with my purchase.
