Lucky for me that Danny was able to extend the drop and I got back just in time since I completely forgot to order these before leaving on this last backpacking trip. Thank you, thank you. By the way, for anyone wondering or interested, we ran into more than a dozen PCT thru-hikers between Carson Pass and Pyramid Peak. Actually, I should say that we were PASSED by them. Those guys move a lot faster than this fat old man. Still lots of snow on the northern and eastern faces! And the fish just weren't biting on what we were offering. The fist pic is looking to the west across Showers Lake. The second is from 100 yards to the east, looking at Lake Tahoe to the north. https ://massdrop-s3.imgix.net/img_comment%2FQRCVrn6SOyevxh2Y2FAB_20170625_100832.jpg

KitCarson61Thanks for the pics. That's a lot of snow. I heard it's a pretty treacherous year to be hiking the PCT. Maybe those who got a later start will have a easier time once they hit the high sierras. Even JMT hikers will be struggling on the passes, and they'll generally be far less seasoned.
Glad you're joining the drop for the poles. Your recent trip is the exact scenario for why I wanted the Fizan poles to come with a larger alpine basket - slushy snowy passes on an summer trip in the Sierra. Thanks again!
