Dear all, I have the knife in my possession for 2 weeks now and I can tell it’s a great Gentleman folder (see my IG post @fandecouteaux) I think it’s the perfect size to be a good overall user. Fit and finish is just perfect (made by WE Knife), the action is great and the front flipper works really well. I personally like the pocket clip very much, the blade is slightly hollow grind witch makes the knife a great sliver. I have the Rosewood version witch makes the knife quite original and classy...I am happy to be able to own a Gareth Bull knife even if it’s just a collaboration !!!!! A YouTube review is coming soon on my (French) channel....fandecouteaux !!!

If poking fun at "influencers" who review prototypes is what a sassy four year old does, bring me some apple slices and a juice box. You keep on carrying that water for them though. Be sure to follow their insta and click subscribe and like on the YouTube!!1!one!

Thank you to Drop for allowing this knife to be sent through the Apex Pass Around Group. Can WE Knife Co. Follow up the Boos Blades Smoke? My first impression of this knife was a audible wow as this knife is gorgeous. The looks makes the scale a little slick in hand. The detent measured at about 2 lbs using a Lyman pull gauge. The dentent is tuned well and the liner lock is light yet locks up well. Lock up on this model was 47 percent. As seen on my channel the knife comes in at 13 quarters and a penny (2.7 ounces) for the example I was able to take a look at. Hollow grind blade with a behind the edge thickness of about 4 sheets of copy paper 16 thousandth. The degree before the detent ball was completely on the blade was 21 degrees is a nicely put together knife. The blade falls and makes contact with the unsharpened blade stock offering a lot of fidget factor. Another stand out feature is the deep carry milled titanium clip which operates great and not a carry depth you see very often with milled clips. Buy, Borrow, or Avoid? Better than a Smoke? A great buy WE did a great job and Gareth did a nice job in designing the knife. Better than a Boos Blade Smoke? I feel they can both live in the community as solid choices for a front flipper. Check out Blade Banter on Instagram and YouTube for more information.

you mean weighing with quarters? the more I thought of it, the more sense it made. who really knows what 20 grams feels like in your hand/pocket (or X ounces--whatever) ?

Nice knife
This knife really has almost everything to be a perfect EDC (per my standards). It has the perfect size, a great gentleman folder style (took the rosewood version), an incredibly smooth action, and the fit and finish We is known for. It also came super sharp out of the box. I'll update this review if my opinion changes as I use it, but so far the 1st impressions are really good! Update: while I praised the fit and finish in my 1st impressions, after inspecting it a bit more closely I noticed the scales and the liners aren't properly aligned everywhere, and you can definitely feel it when rubbing your finger on it. It's not a huge deal and doesn't impact the knife ergos, but that's quite surprising from We and a bit disappointing for a knife over $200. I also noticed a tiny crack in the wood which I'm afraid could extend (and maybe break) as time passes, I might try to get it replaced if it restocks before the warranty expires (talked with the support and they said it would be possible). Update 2: I contacted We Knife and Drop about the cracked scale, and while We would be ok to send replacement scales to Drop, Drop says "we don't dispatch parts to customers", which to me reads as "we don't care if the maker can help, we won't help you anyway, don't expect us to do any effort to stand behind our products". I'm not surprised though.

I just asked someone in Reddit yesterday if the wooden scales are stabilized and he said he didn't think so. I mean, that woulda cost money :)

Very good
This is very easily the best knife made by WE that I have ever handled. The action is very nice and the detent is set correctly so that the blade flies out but can't be shaken out with gravity. The knife is also a good size and is no larger than it needs to be. It is unfortunate that there is drama about the origin of this design but the execution here is impeccable.

Thanks for the details (in case it gets removed, I still had the time to see it ^^). Indeed they have a few similarities in details like the jimping on the top of the blade and the shape of the clip, but I don't feel like their overall style is the same, I wouldn't call that a rip off (but maybe there's more to the story). Anyways, it's good to know.

mdeousIt sounds for all the world like someone writing marketing material may have gotten a little too fancy with Bull calling the ATCF an inspiration for it, and then internet weirdos deciding that thirdhand marketing material describing a design inspiration means that he literally collaborated with Terzuola OR directly copied the ATCF. The similarities in overall proportion are obvious, but they are knives, lots of knives in this arena have a nice, ergonomically neutral straight profile. It would be more insulting than laughable to claim that anyone, even Bob Terzuola, has the right to claim such a general form as his personal creation and copyright. The thumb ramp is again, not unique to Bob Terzuola though his ATCF did popularize it decades ago. A lean drop point is not unique to Bob Terzuola, it's almost dictated by the overall design of knives in this size format though. To me it sounds like the man said something complimentary about an older hand in the custom knife world and it was misconstrued to hell and back. Or maybe Bull never said that and whoever wrote it got carried away with themselves while noticing the two designs are in the same wheelhouse and have some stylistic similarity.

Merci.

Outstanding Smoothness
This knife...at least the one I received (the carbon fiber version) is one...if not the smoothest opening and closing knife I own. Its fit and finish is excellent. Good Job Drop‼️😉🤙

Great quality EDC
Great fit and finish to a very lightweight, rugged build. Detent on point and good ergo's. Not as slippery as I thought for the carbon fibre variant. Clip has the right amount of tension and is very discrte

Love this knife!!! Action is perfect and dropped shut right out of the box! Lightweight, beautiful, and a perfect clip. The carbon fiber is smooth and comfortable but I can get a good grip regardless. It has quickly become my favorite knife.

As good as the real thing.
since it is a production version at a much cheaper price than a custom GB knive, this can be your daily user while you keep the custom as a shelf-queen (if you are into that sort of thing). Action is great and I just wished I also bought the other version, like some knife nuts did.
