9/14 UPDATE Hi Everyone, Thanks so much for your order and patience during these challenging times. We are excited to let you know that the Drop + Glycine Combat Sub "Soda" Automatic watches are at last shipping! One small change: Your Glycine Combat Sub “Soda” Edition watch now has a date window cyclops lens, like the original limited edition run. This feature is a small magnifier over the date field and it enhances legibility. We hope you like this new feature, but also realize not all changes are welcome. Therefore if you wish to return on account of this modification, please reach out to Customer Community at drop.com/support. Thanks again. We will always try to do our best and wish to ensure your satisfaction with our products. We hope you will be pleased and can’t wait for you to receive your watch.

JaleesaGSuper helpful guys. Funny how you're very responsive when you want our money. Covid or not, this is ridiculous. Ignore away, you're speaking volumes. For the record, that's two polite emails and two previous requests here over the course of a month. @leopadron
Cmac2818Hi @Cmac2818 I would have thought you would have received some kind of email or communication. In any event to directly answer your question, we're currently tracking around first week of November for arrival of the GMTs and Coffee Edition watches. Indeed, COVID has delayed timelines, but it's hit the Swiss manufacturing industry a bit harder than other regions, and it's a double wallop, because it impacted movement manufacturers particularly, which tend to have limited production capacity during normal times. Sellita in particular was already having a banner year before COVID hit, and when they reopened, they had to fill a huge backlog of orders. This put back many brands, including even the Drop Felix (which finally has begun shipping). All of our Glycine Combat models use Sellita movements, and Glycine is in the process of getting everything out now. The delays can feel arbitrary which is frustrating, for us too. When the global supply chain suddenly has a bunch of stoppages, it's not pretty when you're managing a ton of orders. (Not that my angst is going to make your watch ship any faster.) As well, I want to always ensure you're getting the most accurate information, and I would prefer 'infrequent but accurate' over information for information's sake. Having said that, we'll do our best to make this all feel less remote. You are free to cancel your order as well, though I hope you can hang on a little longer. It's going to be a great watch, and we're near to the finish line. Leo

JaleesaG@Cmac2818 Not only responsive when they want the money, but very generous on promises as well! @leopadron @JaleesaG : Well this "small" change, likable or not by the purchasers of this version, is against all those who have ordered the first issue of the 500pcs limited run of the model (https://drop.com/buy/drop-glycine-combat-sub-soda-automatic-watch / "Our exclusive, serialized version features a vintage look you can’t get anywhere else" - betcha you can find it here.....). They were promised 2 main differentiators which would make their watch stand out of the other non-limited run (e.g. the watch from this tread, where initially had an explanation that its a different watch without cyclops which is exclusive for the limited run) - cyclops and the engraved production number. Now they are down to one on the back of the watch - the "limited numbers". BTW there are serials above 500 so that's kind of false promise as well. Slow clap to Massdrop/Drop

leopadronAppreciate the response, annoyed I had to throw a tantrum on a public forum to get it. I recognize delays are not personally your fault and you're trying to address my issue as best you can.  I understand Drop is a business. If hard to get Sellita movements can get prioritized into a higher margin watch, like maybe the Felix, then that is a decision you will likely make. I don't need a lecture, or an excuse, on how covid 19 has affected supply chains and manufacturing. And I don't need information for the sake of information. Vague emails stating that you're "tracking" for August, September, October, November are just that, useless information. I want you tell us a date and hit it, not shrug and point the finger every month. We didn't give our money to Sellita or Glycine, we gave it to drop.  It's not about getting money back. It's about not being transparent, using covid 19, and over leveraging your customers goodwill.  Ranting has been a pretty poor use of my time, so I'll get off my soapbox. I guess we'll see if I have a watch or an excuse the first week of November
Cmac2818And I appreciate your patience. Based on what you said a point of clarification is in order here: We do not control Glycine's operations, nor Sellita's production schedule. I bring up the Felix only as an example of how an unrelated brand can be impacted by the same root causes. Shutdowns that happened due to Covid-19 caused delays, which causes uncertainty, and uncertainty is frustrating. As a merchant, the best we can do in these circumstances is offer a refund, which is open to you at any time. I cannot give you better information than I already have, unfortunately. What can at least express is that many of these same operations have been back online for several months now, and we're nearing shipment for the Coffee Edition Combat Sub. So I do hope you choose to hang on a little longer.

JaleesaGHi, I have been a customer for 18 months or so now; and all in all ,with a few delays and lost watches I think Drop has given good service and great deals. I will continue to be an active customer and supporter, even if a bit cranky at times!! But, what I don't understand with some of the forward orders and long delays is why you have to take all of the purchase price up front!! Most companies, not just in watches but other products are happy to take a deposit, and then full payment just prior to delivery when the product is confirmed as in stock and ready for shipment. I understand the "normal" procedures where the offer time and lead time is say; 7 days and despatch two weeks later, as the discounted price is achieved with a large upfront bulk payment paid to the vendor so a reduced price can be gained. If you did offer the deposit system on the few situations where the despatch is many weeks away you might get less complaints!!!! I know it may be extra work, or even adding a sub program to your system: but I for one would prefer say a $100 deposit and the other $300 prior to despatch. I have read some comments of customers waiting 6 months or more . Currently I am happy with the standard system on normal orders, as like I said I appreciate the price is achieved with upfront payment. I wouldn't enter into any of these longer despatch times, for the same reason as some of these start up style arrangements; where they will only enter production if they take enough deposits. But at least they only ask for "deposit" rather than the entire purchase price. Maybe you could consider a deposit arrangement, who knows you may just increase the orders.
