Is this really shipping on the 6th January? Or is this another wait a year type watch? Also, anyone bought this in the UK, how much did you pay as custom? Thanks

GubroShip on 7/1/21 I "F###ing " hope so!!! I have heard of some U.K. guys having to pay some customs charges, but still coming out miles ahead financially; they did say that these watches retail for up to 1000 GBP sterling in U.K. I have two other Combat Subs and am very happy with them, this one is at a great price now. For just over 200 quid it is priced at the watches made by "Geckota" U.K. watch company, and they are made in China!!! Good luck.

JAoneYeah depends on the carrier and the value marked. It really is the draw of the luck. The sub soda is just over £200 shipped whereas most combats here are £500 and up. I am ordering one, but I heard, that the first batch last year took almost a year to deliver. This one states shipping by the 7th so there is hope.

JAoneOk, drop says it was shipped on the 8th. Checking on the DHL website it says the package is still sitting in the DHL origin warehouse. I just can't understand why is it still there. DHL International should be 5-7 days and after 6 days it's still not moving an inch. Not drops fault obviously, but still annoying.

GaborWell it arrived this morning, dispatched 4/1,exported from facility at Avenal,NY, 6/1. Nothing on tracking since!! They will probably inform me that I have received it in two weeks!!!!!! LOL. Faultless totally so far , subject to keeping the time! which I will measure this week. Hoping it has the ETA 2824 rather than the SW200 movement, of which I have already one each in two other combat subs. The ETA seems to keep excellent time ,but the SW200 runs about a minute or so fast every ten days; so not awful. But I would still be happy if it was fitted with the SW200. For the money spent this is an absolute gift, not a blemish on it and a really good cyclops glass; on top of the sapphire crystal but at this price that is acceptable ,some watches cost a fair bit more and still have the cyclops as an afterthought rather than pay to have it incorporated in the crystal. It reinforces my respect for Glycine as the best value for money fully Swiss made diver available. I hope you receive your watch soon and are happy with it.

JAoneYeah, mine is sitting in Avenel NY since the 9th according to the tracking. So your tracking was not updated after that? That's strange. Let's hope mine is already on this side of the pond. Re cyclops: look at this way - if you don't like it, you can remove it. You can't do that with the integrated one. I personally have no preference between the ETA and the Sellita, they should be near identical, bar the extra jewel on the SW200. I had both and both were excellent timekeepers. Congratulations for yours, for 275 dollars it is a steal (plus VAT and customs for me, but still). Can you confirm, the endlinks are solid? I know the clasp is not, but a milled one is about 7 USD so I'm not that bothered, actually the stamped ones are more narrow lol.

GaborHard to tell if the end links are solid,I am afraid I am not the most technical of people, and my memory is not the best as I have had the bracelet off the other steel bracelet sub from Glycine and I cannot remember if the end links are solid or not; I do remember putting the bracelet back on as it wasn't easy to remove, so I figured if it was that solid and secure to leave it in place. I have solid end links on one of my Raymond Weil Tangos, but that also has screw pins for the bracelet. If I do try to change it I will let you know, as I do think it will look good on a leather strap. I am glad you have had no issues with the SW200 movement, I ended up selling one back to the retailer I bought it from and got a part ex. on a ETA 7750 Valjoux watch; which keeps perfect time. I did find out that some of the parts inside the Sellita were plastic as opposed to metal parts fitted to the ETA which it is cloned from; could that make a difference!!- I don't know . I am sure there are some technical minded guys on this site which may have a viewpoint. Good luck.

JAoneWow, I thought the SW200 was identical to the ETA bar the extra jewel they used to alleviate the problem with manual winding - the ETA can be worn out after a while when regularly hand wound. The ETA 7750 is a higher category movement though. Interesting, that the Swatch group claimed, they will not supply ETA movements outside the group so in theory no other companies should have access to ETA movements any more. Yet I see brand new watches still come out with ETA movements, so after all there might still be available new stock. I can't wait for my soda to arrive. I'm like a small child before Christmas, first Glycine for me.

GaborI heard the same thing about some auto movements so I bought two winders a 4 and a 6. After 2 years; touch wood! Still working well, I run them all day whilst I make solar and a couple of hours either side. I found they need 12 hours to keep watches going. I went cheap, both were $55 usd. each. The wolf winders Drop sell are probably some of the best but very expensive. Merry Christmas when your watch arrives.

JAoneOK, just got an email to pay the VAT and customs, £60 all in all. Paid it straight away. Still a steal. I just hope they release the package soon - let's say Monday and I get it delivered by Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

GaborLooks great, lumed shot is fantastic. You must have a really good phone, or have kept a good camera!! Those bigger indices make sense on this style of watch, out of the three I have you can notice the poorer performance of the lume with the smaller indices model. Now onto the next one!! If you haven't got the bronze combat sub, the GLO188 is currently for sale at the same price I paid last year: a really gorgeous sub combat; highly recommend it. Probably the best value for money genuine solid bronze case watch available. Good luck.

JAoneYes, I saw it. I dipped my toe into the bronze watches craze about 2 years ago thinking I will love it. Unfortunately the love quickly faded especially with the green marks becoming a regular feature on my wrist. Nice watch though, just not for me. At the moment I'm waiting for the blue dial gmt Airman 42 to co e back at some point. That I would consided depending on the price.

GaborFor some reason they seem to be more expensive than the combat sub!! Can't see why, if anything the very mechanical crown that enables two time setting I thought would make it cheaper, the movement certainly should not cost anymore, I don't think it runs a 2829 eta movement. I don't fancy the purist version but quite like the Double Twelve. Otherwise I would keep being late!!

GaborHey, thought I would get back to you about the end links; after quite a some time carefully removing the bracelet I did find they are "solid", the same as my GLO78 model. Both are so well fitted they take forever to remove, I put the bracelet back on the soda version as the beads of rice curve end didn't fit!! It was designed for one of my other watches a Geckota C-01, but never mind you can get non curve bracelets but I do prefer the curve ends. The Glycine bracelets are very well made as you have found out, great value for money.

JAoneOh well, mine seem to be slightly moving on the bottom part. I did not remove it yet to see if a better quality pin would hold better. it has about a millimetre play on the right hand side of the end link.

GaborYes I see, that's a shame ! But only can be noticed if you are really looking for it. Maybe that's the reason my bracelet was a "bitch" to remove; to coin a phrase. Just got of the Yema website , they have a good sale and great watches. Their current Superman GMT is around $1049 usd. very tempted almost the perfect GMT. Anyway better stop looking or might get myself into the naughty corner with the "Trouble and Strive"!!

JAoneWell, it only moves if I put a bit of pressure on it. Hopefully it still holds on the long term. Re GMT: I had a Steinhart Ocean GMT because I wanted a GMT and for like £600-ish a Swiss made watch with proper ETA 2893 it was well priced. It ran outstandingly, well within COSC , if I recall it correctly, about +3spd. After having it for a couple of months I just told myself, I don't need the GMT complication. I don't know. I'm still loving the look of that Airman GMT, the 42mm modern one, but honestly it's just an eye candy to me. Speaking of accuracy: this soda of mine runs +3-4spd so far, and I'm hoping an even better one, once it's run in period is over. Realistically it can settle down around the +2spd mark which would be awesome!
