would totally get this if offered on a rubber strap.
no way would i risk scratching this trying to get this impossibly attached bracelet off. have no idea why this cannot be made an option.
RayFof all the comments and replies i've come across on this site you take the prize for the crassest blowhard puerile attempt at snark so far, and i've been on here awhile. tho you might think so, that's not a compliment.
johnnyjohnnyYeah, I've been here a while too (that makes about a million of us), meanwhile, I remain unsympathetic towards your bracelet changing phobia. Many of us have faced and conquered that fear before--man up ;- )
RayFthat's fine. that's a legit comment. i don't mind disagreeing. it's when people think they need to be don rickles on a watchblog that it becomes tiresome. back to the issue, i've scratched enough new watches taking off bracelets that it's grown old and wasteful. and i'm as good at it as my former rolex watchmaker (worked for rolex 13years). so i'll pass. but enjoy.
johnnyjohnnySounds more like you're as good at changing watch bracelets as Don Rickles was (who didn't work for Rolex). Suggest you buy this watch anyway, and simply find another watchmaker to change the bracelet to whatever you'd rather wear. There's no shame in that--many people go that route and there are effective ways to protect the case from scratching.
RayFguess you didn't read my comment above...i'm better at changing bracelets than manufacturers...once the bracelet goes on it puts marks on the watchcase no matter what. besides, no reason to buy a car with tires on it you need to change...unless you have a fetish & enjoy doing that. keep working on the Rickles schtick...you may be able to play Denny's Pacoima in a few years. still...thanks for the concern & hope you enjoy the watch. and bracelet.
johnnyjohnnyKind of shocked at this exchange. Why would someone on this thread attack someone because they did not want to take a bracelet off of a watch, and would like to see it offered with a different strap? One can express a difference of opinion but the attacks on this 'johnnyjohnny' member seem ugly. I just joined today but would quit in an instant if I were to experience any abuse such as this. Really insane.
johnnyjohnnyI didn't work at Rolex but I've been a watch guy for 20 years and changing from a bracelet to a strap is no big deal. But if you are fearful, any decent watch shop can do it without scratching the watch no problem. Cost is less than $20.
CombatWatchthanks for the suggestion but i've gone the route of buying watches with bracelets to take off. i've had $1000 Swiss divers that when you get the bracelet off have scratches from the original installation and others like a Davos Swiss diver where for some reason the bracelet was on so bizarrely tight it was impossible to get off. while i appreciate those who offer actual suggestions rather than idiot snide remarks (not you sir) i am able to get this watch for less WiTH a rubber strap on it elsewhere. new. i'm a member here so would like to support drop, so i made the comment in that spirit. but while appreciating the suggestion, i'd rather just get a watch the way i want it without having to take it somewhere to change it. my rolex certified watchmaker wouldn't charge me...but i'd rather the option of having a watch come to me as i like it.
RayFhey ray...the moderator already blocked a few of your half assed comments to me. why not take a hint and stalk someone else who likes using watchblogs to get out psycho aggressions. my comment was a reply to someone else, not you. please cross me off your creepy stalk list.
