BeisenhergIf enough people did the same, there would be no extras to buy as Drop would have no insensitive to buy them for you. If everyone thought or did the same, there would be no set produced. In fact if we went back in time a year and a half or so when vendors didn't regularly buy extras and also didn't run as many sets, we would have far shorter wait times in general. Personally, I'd rather pay in advance (like we all have been doing without issue for years now) and be guaranteed my product then wait the same duration for a fcfs shit show where kits are gone in seconds. The "in stock" model in this rapidly growing niche hobby only works for bots.
FatalruinIf its a must have set for an individual then they should definitely join the GB to reserve a spot but for sets that are not must haves its a no brainer to just wait. Lead times are getting worse and worse with no end in sight, its ironic you bring up bots because keycap producers are the ones who fuel aftermarket prices and botting in the first place since it takes so long.
This is good information and in the future I will refrain from making Dumb comparisons as I apparently did earlier. Besides who needs lighting on keyboards.
Update 2023-01-23: Shipping for group buy orders is complete!
Update 2023-01-21: GMK Lime has arrived to the warehouse, and has begun shipping to customers! I anticipate that most, if not all, orders will be shipped out by the end of this next week.
HoffmanMysterIf you ever do another round of this set, please consider making color-swap alphas in that pretty lime green. Would be an instabuy for me. 👍
ABS? For more than 20 dollars? Why do you guys keep doing this? PBT is the only keycap material worth anything. I don't want shiny polished keys after 3 or 4 months of daily use.
My red samurais start to shine within a month, and gets really bad after a couple months. That was my first pair of GMK. Later I started to baby my GMK keycaps and they don't shine for almost a year, but that is very likely because I always wash my hands before using it and wipe it often.
Unless you have some weird collector fetish where you buy caps you don't use it is insane to buy ABS. They all shine very quickly. I actually use my keyboards constantly and no I don't eat at my keyboard and I'm very hygienic.
ABS plastic caps again? You'd have to be genuinely out of your mind to buy keycaps you intend to use with your fingers in ABS. What even is the point? Are you people mounting them on the wall to look at them? ABS is objectively the worst material to make keycaps out of. Living human tissue has oil and that compound we secrete is a solvent for ABS. Within 1 month of regular use for ANY ABS plastic you'll see the finish start to polish away. At 4 months they'll be tacky and look horrible. Might as well toss your money into a fire. PBT is the only sane option.
