Hello, I just bought the Sennheiser HD 6XX and I already have a SHIIT Magni 3 so I was looking for a DAC. I was going to buy the MODI 3 but it's out of stock everywhere in EU. It's difficult to research something in this thread, so is it possible to know how this DAC compares to the MODI 3? It cost 50$ dollars more. Also I think I will need a specific cable to link the dac to the Magni 3. I'm not an expert. Could you guys help me ?

loutripe26The grace standard DAC (not the balanced version) sold for like $80 or something on drop is a solid choice but I'm not sure about your shipping situation. If you don't go above 16 bit audio, it's hard to argue you need something more than the grace standard DAC imo. The topping D10s and Topping E30 measure really well in the $100 to $130 range that I think is sold basically world wide. Be sure to get the Topping D10 version with the s -> Topping D10s. I suppose the Topping D10 is an option for probably a little less (its the old version) but the D10s measures up there with the top DACs. The topping E30 imo is better merely for the volume control-not sure if the extra cost would be worth it to you. Some people dislike the idea of digital volume control. I'll leave it at that. RCA male to RCA male cable (two cables -a pair of them) connect most DACs to many amps. Some amps just want TRS connectors/tips (looks like what most headphones use) so you'd need RCA to TRS cable in those situations.

loutripe26The biggest thing is that this DAC is really meant for a balanced setup, so you're better served buying some of the DACs that Michael-Q mentioned, since they are single-ended, as well as better measured.
