Drop + Grace Design Standard DAC Balanced

Hopefully there's some news on this being re-released again within the next week or two. Otherwise I'm probably gonna end up returning the 789 that I just ordered. Without a balanced DAC to go with it there's no reason for me to keep it over my Modi/Magni Heresy stack. I could go with a Modius but if I did that then I would rather have a Modius/Magnius stack.

thequagI have Modi/Magni Heresy stack and Balanced Grace/789 stack. I got my Grace Balanced dac from Amazon on a random availability. I think it was worth, cause the sound improvements are significant with my Sundara. Then again, Schiitius stack is pretty good too!

J1aE_doN9I'll keep my eyes peeled on Amazon, thanks for the heads up. I'd prefer to run this amp if possible but the Schiitius stack is tempting just to get the balanced setup over with. My 789 arrived in record speed but I have no reason to open the box. Sundaras are one of my favorite headphones btw, I tried the Anandas but for the 1/2 the price the Sundaras are phenomenal.

thequagThe Grace SDACs are very unlikely to ever return, at least not in the same form. The AKM chips that were used are no longer available (AKM factory burned down). However, a silver lining is the Geshelli JNOG2 DAC is actually a better DAC. It costs a little more but is more than worth it. It holds it's own against anything less than a grand including the D90, for real. You have to buy direct from the Geshelli website. I have more info on the J2 in my TA-20 review.

Rectifier@Rectifier Then if I want to get a Geshelli J2 DAC and Geshelli E2 AMP, should I pick a 100K pot or a 10K pot for the AMP? Which one would you recommend me and why?

MaxRayderGood question, I don't have the E2. I think 10k was standard and 100k is a new option being offered with the E2, possibly for use with IEMs, but not sure, just quessing. You can contact Geshelli on their website. I heard they are very good about communicating. So I am sure they can answer any questions you have. If you find out perhaps you can share the answer with us. I do have the Archel 2.5 Pro. Specs seem to indicate it has a 10k pot.

RectifierNot gonna lie, geshelli units sound tempting based on some research. But, the design aesthetic is quite polarizing imo. And you are also right in that Grace DACs are not around so much nowadays. As someone who owns it, I cannot say it is better than other DACs I haven't heard, but I can say that it performs exactly how I want/expect it to. It's a shame that more people can't share my enthusiasm for Grace :[[

J1aE_doN9The Grace is not a bad DAC, not at all. I bring up the J2 as an alternative because the Grace is no longer in production. If your happy with the Grace that is what really counts. As for aesthetics I have the J2 with the charcoal case and smoked black faceplate which gives the J2 a really nice all black look which I prefer. The smoked black faceplate has grey lettering which blends in and is barely even visible as opposed to the clear faceplate with the white lettering. I cover the front coax with a silicone black RCA cap for a finished look. With these options it looks stunning. Ringing in PC38X's
I recently got this headset, and wow is it good. My only issue is when certain people talk on discord, I can hear a really high pitched ringing. I fiddled with a bunch of settings, computer audio and discord, and nothing seems to solve the issue. It is primarily if not all in my right ear only. Is there something wrong with my headset, or was that ringing always there I can just hear it cause the headset is THAT good? I haven't had any issues with any other application, though I have yet to test if I can hear the ringing on a different version of discord, say on my xbox instead of my pc. Only other issue I've had is occasional static, but I can't tell if it's from the headset or the show/game/etc.

Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Recommendation for my next headphone set? I have Koss 95x
Hey all, What would you recommend I get next and why? I have Koss ESP-95x electrostatic massdrop headphones. These are my first and only audiophile set. I love them. I think my only real requirements is $500 or less for the headphones and that they have a little more low end. I don’t need thump but these are really light on lows…but the experience is still awesome. Also any recommendations on an amp? I only have my electrostatic thingy. Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better.
