All I can say that this switch (Halo True) are uniquely good, the switch has a really good "clack" sound, it is smooth too out of the box, the springs are heavy but not heavy enough to stop a heavy typer like me from bottoming out (BOTTOMING OUT FEELS GREAT, SOUNDS GREAT) also I noticed that you feel most if the tactility on the upstroke since the tactility starts at the top of the switch so there is no travel, basically the top of the bump is at when you start to press the switch, so you don't feel it as much as when you slowly let go of the switch, it's a weird but good feeling that's hard to describe, you have to feel it yourself and say "oh, that's different" because that's what my reaction is when I got my hands on these Halos. Edit: I made some Holy Panda from these switches, hands down THE BEST tactile switches I have ever laid my hands on! I would suggest getting these or the Halo Clears and hunt for some Panda in the secondary market, might cost you a bit tho.
Decent tactiles, but that's not what these were used for.
Perhaps you are familiar with the Holy Panda switch. If not, it is a so-called "frankenswitch" which features the housing from a YOK Panda switch and the stem from a Halo Clear or Halo True switch, yielding some of the best tactile switches in the world. Halo switches are decent in their own selves, though. They're ok tactiles for daily use. They're not the quietest or the greatest in terms of tactility, but they're not bad at all. However, if you want to go that extra mile, get a pack of Panda switches and get to frankenswitching.

Will these work with CTRL, ALT, or SHIFT keyboards?
What's the difference been True and Clear?
I got both, I found the clears have a higher initial resistance which made the actuation point more obvious, but they bottom out much easier, the trues had less tactility and less initial force, but the bottom out resistance was noticeably stronger. They are quite similar yes, but not identical, and the color of the stem has nothing to do with the led transmission, thats only the housing which is the same for both. Also, lube them, they get much quieter and the actuation becomes much more clear to the hand.

Use these at work, easy comfort. Just recently packed these onto the Massdrop x OLKB Preonic Rev3. These flagship switches helped me transition from a staggered to ortholinear keyboard layout with an added sense of simplicity. Would highly recommend this if you're looking to try out silky and tactile.

T0L0YI recently swapped out the Speed Coppers on my Preonic for Halo Trues and I agree! I always thought I was a fast typer with a light touch but once I started typing with the Trues, I realized how many typing errors I used to make I guess I’m not a fast typist :(

atrnh*high five* Yeah I totally know what you mean, the Trues take some getting used to. At first I was double typing some letters, and thought it was my QMK settings but it was just the overall smoothness and tactility of the switches that I needed to master. Glad you've been enjoying yours though! You'll be the fast typist in no time I bet :)

FischemylWhat lube did you use when making your holy pandas? or did you not use any aftermarket lube? i have the same ones (mint green) and was wondering what the preferred brand or kind of lube is the best for the halo true and the green or red YOK switches (to make holy pandas)?

Based on the feedback I had read, I was really looking forward to receiving these switches. Packaging was impressive looking but the switches were mostly separated and loose. No damage but it was not an auspicious start. The feel is similar to the Halo Trues and I like the smooth tactile feeling but wish it was more continuous rather than isolated at the top on the way down. They type nicely, however, they are a bit hard for me to use for long -- a little too heavy and this is important because I type long documents during the day along with writing tons of code in the evenings and on weekends. Not much gaming so can't assess. I have pulled them out of my board but will try them again with a newer keyboard.

When you have heavy fingers, it's more like resting. The springs hold up your fingers and prevent extensor pain from hovering over lighter springs.

This new batch is god awful
Ordered some to make holy bobas, they do not fit in so you either can't do it or have to use an nk cream top or clone of some sort. the stem sizes varry a TON. Some are longer or shorter than others. I would not buy this if you are looking to frankenswitch, or at least wait until these issues are fixed. Waste of money.

Good switch, no lube from factory
Both of them are similar to the Cherry MX® Black, the actuation time is interesting and once you get the grip on them, you don't need to press the keys until maximum travel time. The spring pushes your finger back as soon as the contact is made. It's not the switch that will provide you the fastest typing, but it is like driving a Lincoln or a Bentley. Smooth, big and comfortable on your fingers.

The build construction is also solid and it sticks firmly with the hotswap PCB, mine came with no lube at all, so I had to buy lube and since everything is sold-out nowadays, I'm waiting for the lube to arrive, meanwhile I am using with no lube.

Stepping Stones to the Holy Grail
Everyone knows what they are made for. I made the Holy Panda switches with these Halo switches and Yok Polar Pandas. Holy Panda is another level of tactile switch.

KiraTauI agree. I used Yok Trash Panda and put the stem from true and the switch is now awesome. However its not as tactile as Zelios V2, that is likely the most tactile switch ever, however the holy yok trash is awesome, the right amount of tactility for wonderful typing experience. Halo true in itself is not really fun and feels heavy and non tactile.

Haven't tested yet but so far so good. Switches have a nice feel and I must compliment the packaging. Other sites I've needed to bend the metal leafs into place. All of these however were placed in a carboard box on specially designed switch rails that prevented this stuff from getting banged around. Even if I decide this isn't the switch for me I've decided it's the company for me. details matter
