Boy, it sure looks like a spare parts assembly. It uses the same old style horrible headband and yokes that Drop seems married to, the Deva/HE-5xx earpads and assembly (as difficult as they are to find good replacements for), and very much likely the same driver series that has been in the HE-350/HE-35x.
I mean, I'm game. If it is the same dynamic as used in the 350/35x, it could be pretty fun with a closed back.

FayneThe description says these headphones are outfitted with "HIFIMAN’s innovative Topology Diaphragms". This is the same diaphragm found in HIFIMAN's HE-R10D.
So the HE-R7DX appears to be a trickle-down product with plastic cups... as opposed to wood cups, as the HE-R10D ($1299) has.
Hopefully, Drop gets the price and tuning right.

mattrisCould get the HE-R9 (D): Metal cups & the Deva Pro "R2R" BT, same driver. Also that headband is actually very comfortable compare to most of there other headbands. I almost prefer it to my Aryas.
