I own the Hifiman 560 since many years and enjoy listening to music while sitting in a comfortable armchair.
When I discovered this offer at Drop at this low price, I immediately decided to buy these headphones for our holiday home. I have to say the 5 week wait - ordered it from Portugal - was worth it. The sound is really very similar to that of the 560 original, which I just don't want to take with me on the plane every time. It probably needs some more time to break in, but it already bewitches me with the gentle but precise sound that in my opinion only these planar membranes can deliver.
Love how comfortable it is and the build quality is pretty classy. Love how it sounds, not really a soundphile, but the instrument separation is very cool.
I don't like how the grills on the side kinda move when touched.

Simply the best entry level planar
I have been using these headphones for almost a year now and it just beats everything that I own even under $200. If you haven't tried planar magnetic headphones before, these are the ones to get for entry level! It's an even better deal knowing that it is also frequently on sale for under $100!
I give them to my brother as a gift. he like them a lot. I've tried them too I think they sound very good. the only bad thing is the cable it broke in ~3 months. and the headband for me, but it's fine for my brother
If you want to try planars. electro, or anything that is not a simple diaphragm driver..
For the price, and if you dont or have never owned these typed of headphones. Kind or worth checking out.
The fact is, this tech, can....sound the best over diaphragm drivers. This is slight taste into that world. There are notes that make you think ....did I hear that right?
Exceptional for $89. Good enough as everyday casual planars. Lacking space and resolution a bit. But what to expect from under $100 headphones. Tried it with pocket highres DAC, FiiO K5Pro, Fosi Tube-P2, Fosi DAC X6, EPOS. Best sound is on Fosi Tube-P2. Sound Source - LG V10 with HiFi on.

A little heavy but fun to use.
I like using it for sound immersion but I can't have it on for too long. I feel like it is a little to heavy for me and my ears start feeling hot by hour 2 or something.

Great Addition to The Collection
I had never owned a Hifiman product before. These are the first planar magnetic headphones that I have used. I am very impressed with the neutrality of the sound. I have driven these with Topping, Schiit and FIIO amp/days. The sound stage is well balanced. I have purchased some balanced cables. I can't tell a lot of difference when using balanced versus unbalanced cables. I enjoy classic rock, blues, classical and Latin music. The ear cups are comfortable, though later some softer cups may be an option.
These are my first pair of HiFi headphones so I really don't how much to compare them with but they feel like they have a really good sound stage all around and for the price on sale of $89 I really can't complain. I have these paired with a Schiit Stack Modi/Magni 3. They can be very loud and very encompassing when gaming, which I do 95% of the time with these. Great value for the money and very comfortable. Initially I wanted the 4XX or 58HD/6XX but I wanted to give these a try. I like them and they are my daily drivers. Happy with my purchase but do plan to broaden my Horizon.

Comfy and Bright
The only complaints I have are that they're a little heavy and I'm not entirely sure how durable the adjustment mechanism is. They're super comfy and they have a clean and crisp sound that I really enjoy. They don't have a lot of bass without EQ, but that's normal for open backs. With a little bump in the bass frequencies, these are a value stand-out for planar headphones. I absolutely love these. I ended up getting a balanced cable for them which made a surprising difference in clarity, but they are still really clear with the cable they come with. However, the cable itself is a little disappointing because it's not very well-made. The outer rubber sleeve separated from one of the terminations on mine. A little glue would do it some good, since I doubt having the inner wires exposed is great for longevity. Again, not a big deal since I have a balanced one, but I do keep it with me in case I need a 3.5mm plug. That aside, solid choice if you like headphones on the sparkly side.
