Hey I'm wondering what do you base this impression on. In all honesty I look at the 2 version from your link and could be the same thing! the specs are the exact same. To me the difference is no more than difference in light when taking the picture! What sets them apart? the type of velour? What makes you think Massdrop would lie on which one they chose? It's an honest question not trying to be sarcastic, I feel like playing spot the difference and don't find anything.

I believe the review/sample units Hifiman sent over to Massdrop came with the incorrect pads - they're meant to be the Focus A but are actually the regular Focus. I'd rather not speak in behalf of MD but that's what I was told happened at least. @bourbonftw
