That's hard to say I have not heard the HE4XX. You can't go wrong with the HD6XX though. I like the HD6XX better than the K7XX that's for sure, although the K7XX are great for FPS games. I've read/watched a few reviews where people were saying they liked the sound of the HE400 better than the HD600/650 but they were uncomfortable. That problem is fixed with the HE4XX. I know the HE4XX are not 100% the same as the HE400 but other people were saying it is better than the HE400 in almost every area. Again is it hard to say this is all subjective. But, if I knew nothing about the two cans there is something about the planar magnetic technology that gets my nerd feelings all tingly. I think it is a cool technology and a must have for what it is. On the other hand the HD6XX are amazing. So good luck with you pick I have a feeling you can't go wrong.
It has crossed my mind, some don't the play that they deserve. But, like I said I like to collect headphones. Here are all the headphones I have from MassDrop.
Very nice. What are your Akgs? I have the 712pro, which I love. Let's see, Senn mix, Phillips 9500,Superlux668b, Monolith m560, Fostex tr70 ( signed by Zeos), Senn hd650. I think thats it. I see a lot of he350 on ebay. What are your favorites, and why? Thanks.
Ps. The only thing 712 on the 7xx, are the pads. Different drivers and worth the money. I tend to listen to the712s more than the actual hd650.They have very good soundstage without losing detail.
@DankusMemus I would say HD6XX but the K7XX are a real close 2nd.
@Will888 Yeah the HE350 hurt my ears and are the worst of the bunch.
@REVMAD Nice. MassDrop has treated me good for Christmas the past could of years.
@Elsid They are the K7XX. I would say the HD6XX are the best all around in my opinion, but the K7XX are amazing for gaming especially for FPS games. The K7XX are the most comfortable by far. There is something about that Sennheiser sound that I just like. I really enjoyed my HD598SE too. My wife picked me up these for my K7XX.

Yes, I think the 650 and 712 are complimentary. I use depending on my mood. I'm looking for something bass heavy now. Any suggestions? ( I want to maintain good mids and highs ) Thanks
