Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Game Test- Rainbow 6 Prefer HiFiman 4Xx
Overall the HiFiman has a more accurate sound, but the sennheiser makes things sound more live and fun, even though it is slightly less accurate. The HiFiman has less bass punch. The HiFiman is slightly less comfortable and tends to warm your ears up. If I had to choose only one I’d take the Sennheiser. But these HiFimans are better for gaming (Rainbow 6)
Stealers Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You (remastered): Fostex PurpleHearts > Sennheiser 6XX > AKG K702 > HiFiman 4XX Fostex PurpleHearts are the most fun, and the most live sounding, but also the most fatiguing. 6XX clear and pretty nice sound seperation still kinda fun. K702 can hear everything and not fatiguing but slightly boring somehow, bass is a little weak. 4XX slightly muddier compared to the other two, but still very good. The vocals are the most clear on these, but missing the fun. if you like vocals 4XX is the best.
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You: Fostex PurpleHearts - Holy shit, bass is pumping, vocals not as clear as the 6XX but it doesnt matter. The vibrations from the heavy bass are distorting the mids and i dont even care. once again the most fun. 6XX Sounds great, fun, the most clear. 4XX - fumbles on the bass, not good. K702 simply cannot handle the bass and it makes the whole track sound awful
White Zombie - More Human Than Human: Fostex PurpleHearts - Hell Yeah, Murdered it. I'm deaf now. These may not exaclty represent the sound exactly as intended by the artist (meaning not-so-audiophiley), but who f'n cares. 4XX - Suprised this one beat the 6XX, but it still rocks and is clear. 6XX - Does what you expect but better, just doesn't rock as hard as the purplehearts. K702 - Still sounds ok but the most fatiguing and most boring. too much treble for me.
Bassnectar, LUZCID - Music Is The Drug: K702, not bad, not bad, was kinda feelin it, the crisp treble benefitted it this time. 4XX, not bad either but was missing some of the that treble. 6XX these were actually more clear than the K702 and the 4XX, but was not as fun as them for some reason. Purpleheats - The heavy bass worked against it this time, was pretty suprised, expected great things and it failed to deliver.
Sky Ferreira - Easy: K702 light bass on the track made this one shine. PurpleHearts 4XX 6XX felt like it was trying too hard.. over-emphasizing the instruments and not her vocals
Markus Schulz - Destiny 6XX- makes me want to buy new headphones because even my best pair for the song was only ok Purplehearts - Not bad but too fatiguing 4XX - bass distorts at the volume that i like to listen K702 - bass distorts badly
Glass Animals - Gooey Purplehearts, yup 6xx 4XX-kinda boring k702-yawn
