got them a few days ago and listened to them at work for a few hours.
one of the metal clamps/arms that holds the ear pad, popped off. the screw came unseated. thankfully they used a metal screw socket, so i was able to grab a t6 (torque 6) bit and screw it back in. i found out 3 of those screws take a t6 head, while the 4th one takes a t7 head.
it's going to function fine.......but really? you don't have all of the same sized screws on the same parts?
southernTDa work friend pointed out, they seem to be using parts from he-400i, he-400s. this might be an attempt to clear out old inventory and still make some money from it.
sadly, it sounds like the quality people complained about hifiman are correct. so i wont be rushing to buy another one, but for now they're fine. they sound about as good as my modded shp9500 headphones, for about the same price.
so i won't be looking to get anything else unless it's at a different price point.
