Mine just arrived. I'm no audio expert and can't pinpoint small differences between headphones, I just buy them cause I like them. I'll admit, the only reason I bought these is because they looked sexy as AF in the pictures and boy do they look and FEEL sexy as AF in my hands too. I was nervous because of all the build quality discussions going on but these things are rock solid. My AKG K701 and K712's still sound better because some of the highs coming out of the HE4XX sound a bit distant, but they were also double the price so I'm not really complaining.
I was only going to write one sentence but ended up writing all this instead. All I wanted to say really, was that these headphones are S E X Y ! and this is a purchase worth making for the looks alone in my own opinion.

b14ckroseHi, congrats on your purchase. May I know if the headphone end of your HE4XX a 3.5mm jack? Thanks.

b14ckroseThanks for the quick reply. I'm seeing everyone's been talking about 2.5mm so far (latest being by Morri2 just below). I'm wondering if ours are a new feature. Not a big issue and to me, a 3.5mm jack offers a more solid connection. Finding a 3.5mm ended balanced cable is another thing though. Lol!

MadArmourYea, I'm hoping that it's not only a new feature, but also a higher quality design that won't have the screws pop out of the headphone mount like I saw in all the pictures below. Only time will tell.

b14ckroseAKG K701 is around 140$.. Anyway could you explain the distant? Is it like soundstage thing or just sound sig? I got bit confused based on reviews, one says that they have worse soundstage than HD 650 ( which don't even have much of it, since i use 598 and its soundstage aren't that big ) others say that the soundstage is massive etc. And im kinda looking for the balance between big soundstage and still clear detailed sound w/ good bass. I don't really like the sound "in your face" except for female vocals.

ExacoMvmI'm not sure where you can find a K701 for that cheap but that seems like a steal. Price must have dropped a lot since 2009. Anyway from the little I've used these, the only complaints I have are that treble can be kind of ear piercing and some highs like female background vocals get lost. That's the best I can explain it since I'm not really an audiophile. Not sure if it has anything to do with needing burn in time. I don't currently use any equalizers on my PC either which may be able to fix most of these issues.
