I just received my he5xx's. The sound is great, but running through my monolith thx aaa portable dac/amp, the sound completely cuts out when you raise the volume to higher listening levels. No distortion, no clipping, the sound just completely cuts out. none of my other headphones do this on this amp. If anyone could help me with this please do. Did I receive defective headphones?

chris_curtisYes, probably. Drivers can't handle whats being pushed to them. If they aren't designed this way, which nobody reported before, you got a defective unit

chris_curtisSame with me if I try to drive these on high gain with my iFi Diablo. Just use a lower gain setting?
