There -ping- are -ping- Better - ping - Options
A desperate sense of FOMO gripped me when these were first announced, so I bought in on the first shipments. I wish I hadn't. I have been using these several months now on my daily driver keyboard (Keychron Q3). Here are my observations. For starters, there is a spring ping on many of the switches that I cannot seem to resolve. The Keychron's steel plate may be emphasizing it. Donut lubing the springs may resolve it, but frankly I can't be bothered. Also while they are not terrible, they are not as satisfying to type with as other tactiles I have encountered since. I think it boils down to the fact that these do not have long pole stems, so they feel a tad mushy to type on. On the flip side, they are plenty responsive for gaming. And I do like the look of them. The smoked housing lets through just enough RGB so as to not be overwhelmingly gamer. At full price these switches are not worth it, in my opinion, as many better options exist.
