if there's one thing i hate from drop is the community. so many people are all up and arms when it comes to delays, and yes, there is room to be upset when the expected date the item doesnt get shipped. but those same people act like everything in life goes smoothly. especially in these times, yes there should be delays. and to be mad at the representative who's been active with responding to people comments and given us an update, it's a shame that people will complain at the slightest inconvenience and not appropriate the effort from those at drop/companies. shame on this community, if it really is one.

why_are_you_buying_this_keysetThis 100%. Why do people think their anecdotal personal story about COVID somehow supersedes what's going on with the rest of the world. Like they live in a bubble.

why_are_you_buying_this_keysetThank you for acknowledging this. I wouldn't necessarily say "hate" ... but there are definitely moments where members and comments defer me from responding in a positive manner. Yes delays are to be expected, but in most cases (especially with 3rd party products), Drop is one where their fingers are pointed at - towards me. In recent drops, I've had many people tag me with their unhappiness and complain about what I should add or change when things are even outside the scope of my abilities or representation of the company. I personally come from the enthusiast/community aspect for keyboards but it's become business driven that my perspective for keyboards has changed. There are days when I feel burnt out because of the aggregation of some of our members externally, and internally when some of these flags are brought up to my manager or team.

Funny you should mention that! A few months ago my director and our CFO wanted us to try an inventory model - so that we would move away from the cons of a GB process - fronting money, waiting for delays, unexpected shipping issues, members asking for updates, etc. I've got the clearance and began ordering extras on top of regular GB drops such as for some Dwarf Factory drops ... but now people are hoping for extras when they decide not to join the GB upfront. It's going to be a mix in the future as some products simply can't be ordered upfront based on the vendor's capabilities or the risk of it not selling well. It's based on my own research and opinion of not over ordering because it wouldn't be great it say, 1000 of an artisan was ordered and ended up sitting in our warehouse with no one buying them. Niche communities, hobbies, and products were the root of why we were founded but in my past year and a half of working here ... it's slowly changing. Some blame the rebrand :/

RootZero, you are an idiot. If the switches were being manufactured in Canada or Australia maybe your comments would be remotely relevant. You sound wildly privileged. And by the way, I’m in Australia and still working and the like but state borders are still closed and there are large disruptions to many aspects of life. If you can’t acknowledge the disruption on a local and global scale and why it would affect supply chains, you’re just ignorant.
