This one will be a long shot but anyone that have listened to these or FDX1 can comment on how it compares to AKG K3003i? I have the K3003i and do still love the sound, wonder if these will be comparable in terms of tonality, soundstage and maybe with a bit more bass?

The original K3003/i (with /or without microphone for i-devices) is a three ways array hybrid, one DD for bass and two BA for mid and highs, not many IEM had this configuration beforehand, many copycats to follow, but K3003/i was the original (and still the best). Before the K3003/i, only single DD has the overall tonal, soundstage, etc which audiophile thrills on, BA/ multi has the size advantage, but overall tonal sounds thin and lack of bass has many turns away. Case in point, Sony mdr-EX1000, Senn IE80 (no IE800 yet), all with single DD and sounds are more "flesh and blood" then their BA peers. To compare the K3003/i with the FDX1 will be comparing apple and orange... the new dual diaphragm does caught my attentions though, I am curious as to how good is the implementation. Variable diaphragm exist before, notable such as AKG K701 series, OPPO PM- series, V-moda M100, etc.

Thanks. Yeah technology wise I know they are very different, just wondering about the sound. Guess I'll have to wait for a chance to try this one and see if the sound signature is to my preference.

Ive got the 3003s too and have gone for this drop. Dont care if better or worse, enough people have said good things about the FD01 to lead me to believe these will be worth a try. Im just unsure about the fit- the K3003 only work for me wedged in with foam tips, suspect these will be similar. I cant just drop silicon tips in my ears and get a seal.
