Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. - DCX White on Black (Valued at $79 with current sales, normally $99)
- Skylight Slate ($45)
- 70x Drop + Invyr Holy Panda Switches (Valued at $59 with current sales, normally $85)
- Drop + Mito Godspeed Desk Mat (Monochrome) ($29)
So, without sales the value of this would be $258, but with the sales that goes down to $212. Overall, I'm much happier with this box than the previous Series 2 one I got. But I got lucky. Don't buy this if you have a specific idea of what you want. I have an opportunity right now at Black Friday to again purchase this mystery box, but am instead going to buy the specific set I want (DCX Dolch) and some more Panda switches being I did not get enough to fill my keyboard. Only buy it if you want to try new things and are willing to accept the possibility that you don't get what you want.
