Lost in Transit
Contacted drop. First time no response. 2nd time I was told I waited too long and they could do nothing as the tracking was expired. 3rd time I was issue a refund. Not sure why it took Drop three chances to do the right thing for their customers.

It's a simply spectacular knife
The quality of the build is the best I've seen. It's a tiny big large but I've got small hands. Would I purchase it again? In a heartbeat!

Amazing Fit and Finish
What a great knife. It's beefy, it's flashy, and that re-curve! It's less of an everyday tool for me and more of a show-piece. Love it!

Don't believe it when Drop states they have it in stock and ready to ship.
I ordered my Raine on May 15 and got conformation it had shipped on May 18th. I gave Drop another chance after being burned a couple of times on shipments even before covid., their problem is they can't sem to tell the truth. I purchased this knife after reading in their ad that it was "In Stock" and ready to ship, they failed to mention in stock in the Netherlands and now after almost 2 months without any tracking information available and trying to contact them twice to find for them to even address your inquiry it will take 4 days only for them to tell you in the initial response that they are busy and will get back to you when they can. Please, please someone shot me in the head if I even go on their site again. I have since purchased the Raine on the secondary market so someone at least has received there order but can someone please tell what carrier system from Europe can possibly take in this case 2 months ? I'm sure Drop must have priced the absolute cheapest means possible and to add injury to insult if it is as with my previous knife order my knife will appear in a bag with the box crushed that will appeared to have been to hell and back. Drop, hell no never again you scoundrels, customer service is part of why and where I purchase a product and I would rather go without than to buy from you people again. Amen Update: I finally received my knife on July 24th, 9 weeks from the date of order where the description read "In stock and ready to ship" tell me people where in the world could have this knife have shipped to take 9 weeks ? DROP is just out and out lying as they have in the past and they are unable to preform on a basis I accept as normal. As a rule I do not per-pay for any knife and that is the business that DROP subscribes to. They tell you it is ready to ship when indeed it is just BS and the reason I believe that is they never provide a working tracking number and then tell you after you have waited five days for a reply that it is just the fault of the carrier, losers play the blame game and these folks are losers. I promise you I will never again play their game and if I want one of their productions I will buy it on the secondary market as I did with this model. Anyone wanting a Raine Arctic Blue model contact me and unlike this outfit I will have it in the mail the next day with a tracking number, I presently have this knife listed on BF.

Though I strongly support US-based companies, quality is by no means a strictly American attribute. As you know, America dropped the ball on quality in automobiles for decades and had their lunches eaten by Japanese companies who had a corporate culture focused on quality and efficiency. Blind nationalism among the customer base does little to encourage many companies to strive for excellence.

not sure what you mean by "new Indian CEO," Steve El-Hage is one of the original founders of (Mass)Drop and has been the CEO since the company was founded in 2012. As far as I can tell he's Canadian, not that someone's nationality has any bearing on the quality of their work or character.

Amazing!!!
Only thing I can fault on this knife on my first impression is not as sharp as I'd expect for a almost 300 dollar knife but everything else is A+. Reate knocked this out of the park

The Drop/Reate collab knives always tend to elicit comments like, “You’re getting a Reate knife for such a bargain!” I’ve sometimes wondered if that was the case. With the Drop Raine, there happens to be a series of knives currently sold by Reate also designed by Kirby Lambert, and I happen to own one of them - the Augustus. I thought it would be fun to compare the standard Reate model with the Drop version and see where they’re similar and different.

The Raine and the Augustus are both production versions of Kirby Lambert customs. The Drop model will save you at least $50 at current market price. While the Raine is by no means a “value” knife, there are a number of design & build choices evident to help lower the cost. The Raine uses RWL34 blade steel; the Augustus uses Bohler M390. The blade shapes are very different - the Raine offers a more basic drop point and the Augustus features a wicked compound grind. Raine’s blade is stonewashed; Augustus is satin finished. Both are beautifully done and there’s a case to be made for the simpler blade looking better in this case. If nothing else, the Raine is definitely more functional. The Augustus’ bolster is smooth titanium. On the Raine, the boosters are aggressively stonewashed. It’s a good look, but again, Probably more cost effective. The Augustus makes use of a blue anodized pivot with a brass pivot collar. The Raine uses standard Drop-branded pivot hardware that blends in with the bolsters. Handle material is a beautiful canvas micarta on the Augustus. On the Raine, it’s FatCarbon, a blend of carbon fiber and resin that’s not like anything I’ve seen on a knife before. It looks - hopefully this is a compliment - like a really funky bowling ball. And it works well on this knife, giving it visual interest without making it look overly luxurious. The Augustus is shipped with a set of phosphor bronze washers in case you want to swap out the ceramic bearings. The Raine is bearings-only, but out of the box, the action on the Raine is surprisingly better than the Augustus. I was also surprised to find that the flipper tab is sharper on the Augustus. It’s a little more comfortable on the Raine. Is the Raine a “screaming deal on a Reate?” I wouldn’t go that far. There’s a lot of value engineering in this knife. Probably more than the $50 you’re saving. But the Raine is an excellent knife and it’s well worth the price tag. And if I’m honest, it probably does a better job of just being a knife. I’ve owned the Augustus for a while, and I love it but I almost never carry it. The moment I got the Raine I took it to the work bench. I have a feeling that between the two, the Raine is the one I’ll be going to more often.

Good Flipper. Star Down for Paint Job
I got the Purple version of this knife, and sadly the moment I got it the purple polish on thr aluminum section (the purple aluminum) wipped of instantly. I don't mind the color change myself, but it's still a concern. It's flick is nice and steady and it's good even for my big hands.

passwurdI wanted to add to this last comment, the aluminum is meant to be "Anodized", which is basically a thin layer of color applied to titanium through sending electric particles through it (or something like that) because of this it can rub off in shipping, or if it gets wet. Turns out my knife got a bit wet during the shipping process. But the good news is you can re-anodize it if you know how. The knife is easy to disassemble too, and lets you take out the aluminum frame completely. You can even give it new designs!

Great refined heavy duty knife.
Awesome fit and finish on this knife! The blue fat carbon scales are beautiful. I’ve enjoyed everything about this knife (besides the Covid19 shipping delay, of course). It was well worth the wait! Stay healthy and safe y’all.
