Just buy it
I was wondering what the fuss was about since I just started to enter the audiophile world. It is a great set of basic headphones that does the job.

They're good, BUT KSC75x are better
For their price, these headphones sound pretty decent. You won't be upset buying them, and they will perform well. The comfort is not bad. They have pretty decent clamping force, and I have not had too many issues with them pressing hard on my ears. With that said, the sound difference between these and the KSC75X is noticeable. In comparison to those, these headphones sound slightly muffled and quiet, both with voices (like podcasts) and music. If you are going to be spending a small amount of money on Koss headphones, go for the KSC75X.

Simply the best sound.
Why do you have to spend a million dollars on headphones? It’s just a question. KPH40X cover it all as far as sound and comfort…. the two MOST IMPORTANT things. Build? Ok, maybe a con. My dog jumped up on me and the wire and headphones crashed to the concrete. Her momentum even dragged them a little bit. THEYRE FINE! Still like new. They sound just as good if not better than heavy clunky, headphones which cost hundreds… maybe higher. $25-26 plus tax? No brainer…. The best. KSC75s too.

Astounding value
These headphones have a rich and warm tonality. Are they the best I've ever heard? No, but they sound as good or better than others I've tried which cost several times as much. I did try swapping out the pads with the Yaxi pads but ultimately decided I prefer the more immediate/tangible sound of the original pads. Highly recommended!

GOOD, not GREAT
Headband is really uncomfortable, its needs a mod to be acceptable IMO. Sound is great though. Lacks bass and its slightly dark, but over wise an enjoyable listen. Honestly they sound much better than most chi-fi iems in the same price bracket. Needs better headband and pads to really shine.

joeshtesh475I use the KSC75 ear clips. Throw the headband in the trash. Snap on. Snap off.

Bought for the headband, but they sounds pretty good.
Bought these for the headband as I like the KSC75 more. Listened to it for a while and it's actually pretty good as well. Not as bright/airy as the KSC75 and has more bass. Pleasantly suprised. Headband is great though, much better than the earhooks.

Drop + Koss KPH40X Utility Headphones are realy cool headphones
Awesome price for such a build and sound quality with nice design. Love these headphones. Be careful with cables they are thin. I broke my 2.5 to 3.5 mm adapter because of the bending. However Drop support helped me alot with this problem.

broke with 3 months of use; good riddance
Truly trash tier build. Who is getting paid to write these reviews? the cheap black sliding plastic snapped as i was pulling these over my head. horrible quality plastics. the headphones constantly snapped off their mounts. the pad coloration wore out to a gray-ish color. overall these were a nightmare for the 90 days I got to use them. the sound was meh, they felt cheap, and they looked stupid. don't waste your money.
