nick_tKPH40 sound great. Lightweight, barely notice them on, non-fatiguing sound that is tuned well. Perfect for casual all day listening. Only inconvenience is hair easily gets to stuck the pads and into the driver and makes a rattling noise, so you gotta pull them out fairly often.
nick_tIt is generally warm with decent clarity. Pleasant to listen to. Bass is surprisingly punchy. Mids don't really muddy up the sound. I would say one of the best sound for everyday enjoyment.
nick_tWell the whole point of the utility series is that the 3.5mm and the USB-C/Lightning cables are interchangeable. If you wanted the full break down, I've used it with the 3.5mm through FiiO BTR5 through bluetooth to the Samsung S21 and USB-C directly to the Samsung S21. And yes they sounded same to me. And yes I did lengthy A/B testing when I first got the KPH40 for a couple of weeks.
tmprlillsnsCan I say both KPH40X or KPH40 sounded the same and KPH40X also exist for 3.5mm and USB-C/Lightning cables as well as a refresh look for aesthetic purpose ? Planning to add one in my collection.
