I received knife #64 in the bronze stone washed finish with plain handles. Out of the box: I wasn't sure if I was going to like this knife. Compared to my collection of (mostly) small knives, the Keen felt heavy. There is no weight relief milling into the handles so this thing is a solid chunk of titanium. I immediately loved the clip. Due to the length, the clip has a fair bit of spring and is well executed. I don't experience any ergo killing hot spots from the clip, and it doesn't suffer from many of the issues I have with other similar milled clips. The Spear Point blade shape is awesome. The blade doesn't look "stabby". It came razor sharp and it slices very well. All around a very useful blade. As with most anything shipped from China , due to the heavy pollution and shipping the knife arrived with a fair bit of dust and debris in the pivot, which made it's initial deployment weak, and a fair bit gritty. The blade did not fall shut. 1 hour later: After dipping the pivot in isopropyl alcohol to clean out dust and debris, I re-lubed the pivot with a little bit of Benchmade Blue Lube, and tuned the pivot tension (I did not disassemble the knife because the pivot is free spinning). After these minor changes the knife flipped like a dream. The detent on my knife is perfect, it deploys and shuts with ease. Fit and finish is great. 100's of flips, and 3 days later: Man, this knife is an EDC BEAST. If your grandfather could have bought this back in the day, I think this is what he would carry. Flips like a charm, glides shut like a charm, carries like a charm. The weight makes the knife feel solid when you're holding it while not being too heavy. It looks sleek and utilitarian at the same time. Being picky: There is only one thing I don't like about this knife... I wish they had rounded off the edges of the handle a bit more. The edge of the lock bar digs in a little bit too much to my thumb when I disengage it, and when you fidget with the knife a lot, it can start to get uncomfortable. The rest of the knife is well rounded and I would have liked to see them do just a little bit more, but for regular use, this things a beast. I can't expect any knife from china to not have some grit in the pivot from the factory and for that I don't hold it against the knife, it's easy to correct and not indicative of quality of parts, design or machining. Just an unfortunate fact. The Verdict: I have to give this knife five stars - Thanks Jonas for helping to make this knife happen. Sorry for the lengthy review, I hope it helps you decide on your purchase if these become available again. Edit (12/3/2018): This knife keeps making its way into my pocket. Its simplicity and utility make it great. It's a huge value for the money.

Well, I love it. It's weighty, good solid blade, excellent fit and finish. Shown next to a gent for size comparison. I will be buying another if they do the drop again.

I have the lefty gold anodized version and am happy with the knife overall, however there is a glaring safety design error overlooked on the lock bar and flipper tab. The part of the lock bar thats milled out for your thumb to land on is too far away from the pivot, so the flipper tab does not make contact with your thumb when breaking past the detent. I've closed the blade on my thumb knuckle above my thumbnail multiple times because the edge swings closed on it, instead of the tab (or tang) first making contact with thumb. So i have to make sure my thumb is closer to the pivot instead of it being where the milling is. The design fix for future runs is to: 1) change the way the milling is on the lockbar, or 2) make the flipper tab longer. One more gripe about the flipper tab. It's the same flipper tab on the Gent. And like the gent, it's easy for my finger tip to slip off the tab because of how round it is. Everything else about the knife is very good. I am waffling between 3 and 4 stars so i would rate it a 3.5, but the primary grind on the blade is ground so very thin behind the edge i bumped it up to a 4.

my thumb is dead center on the relief cut for the lock bar. That's where your thumb is intended to be. Also, please keep in mind, i am left handed, and the pictures show left handed operation. Bye troll.

jhonisur Acting like the relief cut is the only spot you can put ur thumb/finger tho disengage the lock though. Which is far from true and most ppl aren’t gonna be doing it like that. They’re gonna be putting their thumb at the top of the frame lock so the flipper will land on their thumb. ur misleading ppl about the knife. Also just cuz ur left handed that is irrelevant u could do it right but ur a what? Troll

Fit and Finish: The fit and finish is excellent and it is everything we have come to expect from the Massdrop/WE Knives collaboration. Centering is right on. No sharp edges and the craftsmanship is spot on.  Deployment: The action is outstanding. The detention is dialed in perfectly. It is a very fidget friendly fun blade to flip. One reviewer said they would have liked a bit of jimping on the flipper tab, but I have not found that to be an issues. It drops shut with a slight flick and a bit of oil made that even better.  Ergonomics: Overall the ergos are very nice. My only very slight complaint is it is a little slick. The titanium finish feels slicker to me than the Crux and Buc. To me, a bit of jimping before the R. Lacanico would have locked your hand in better. As Nick Shabazz would say, this not the blade for the Vaseline factory, but still very comfortable in your hand. I don’t feel any hot spots as I have used it. Size: This is perfect EDC size for me. About the size and weight of the Crux. I like the 3.4 inch blade and 4.4 ounces, while maybe heavy for some, is fine by me. I tend to like a little bigger blade. Carry: the clip and carry works well. As I said, some people may want something lighter, but to have this total package of solid blade and handle it works for me. As a lefty I truly appreciate not being left out of this drop by offering left handed options.  Blade: I love the spear point design and S35V is good to go all day. The blade tapers to a very nice edge that slices well. It handles all EDC tasks deftly. Yet the overall blade is robust enough for most tasks. It came paper cutting sharp out of the box.  Appearance: I like the sleek look of this knife very much. It is simple but slick looking. I went with the basic design as I had to for the lefty option. The other options with the holes or grove add a little something else to it. I am pleased with the gold/bronze color. It is slightly lighter color bronze than my Buc. Overall it is a nice, sleek looking knife.  Value: This is another Massdrop great value. Great designer, manufacturered by WE, distributed by Massdrop keeps brining great value to the table. This could easily sell for more. Overall: This is yet another Massdrop collaboration winner. The Keen is a nice looking, well designed, functional knife made with great materials to perfection. Add is a very reasonable price tag and it is highly recommended. Grab one while you can.

Amazing quality for the price, as always with WE Knives. Great blade shape that is superbly sharp, perfectly centered, and great action. I also dislike the free spinning pivot and the Massdrop billboard. Come up with a stylized 'MD' logo or something that fits better.

RazlakI agree the free spinning pivot screw and the MASSDROP logo are tiny flaws but then again every diamond has its flaws, the difference is that MASSDROP logo is an easy fix. I can live with the free spinning pivot but come on Massdrop let's get the design team working on a New, Smaller, or abbreviated logo.... It compares to a supermodel with liver spots IMO.

RazlakI agree also there could be some jimping on the top of the blade instead of the designers name, if anything put the designers name on the blade instead of the massdrop “billboard “

This is another great collab from Massdrop. I really love the clean design of these knives. Both of mine have very smooth action and no build issues whatsoever. I'm especially pleased that the handles are big enough for me to get a four-finger grip on them.

The only thing I don't like is that I can see the backspacer through the last hole. That's gonna tickle my OCD every time I look at it...argh! I might have to grind that down.

Nice knife spoiled by shipping experience
First off, I see why people have recommended this knife. Good weight and light action. I like it a lot. But it is somewhat spoiled by the way Drop shipped this. 2019 was the year of Drop for me. After getting 12 knives and having them shipped in 4-5 days from NJ, I ordered this for Christmas with plenty of time based on 12 previous experiences. There was no mention of shipping from China during the order process. It was in stock so I assumed it was going to be like previous orders. It's taken a month to get here on a trip thru the Netherlands to NY and then on to me. I asked Drop why it was coming from China instead of NJ and all I got was corporate BS about the shipping process from China. Not what I asked them! Previous knives came from NJ in boxes which protected the contents. This one came in a thin shipping bag which was torn and the box the knife was in was crushed. Fortunately, the pouch protected the knife but this is a disgraceful decline in service for Drop! I currently have a knife I ordered as a Drop coming in thru the same route from China. I will have to see what condition it arrives in but despite wanting one of the upcoming knives from them this may well cause me to stop ordering from them and look elsewhere for my knife purchases. Drop........Get your S**t together. You've pi**ed off a loyal customer!

Hopefully you'll get yours soon. As far as my Keen, I like it a lot! I'm just disgusted by Drop's pathetic shipping. Mine is well centered and has a good action. Some of the problems people have said they had seems to have happened over time so I'll have to wait and see how mine holds up. All my other knives from Drop have held up well. Hope you get yours soon!

This knife is Perfect in every way. It is a simple design ( Laconico's style) that fits everyone's hand big or small and the fit and finish is top notch as is the blade shape and blade finish. People on a knife board I frequent either have bought two of them or are in the process of buying another, me included. This is a quality knife at twice the price so if your hesitant of pulling the trigger on this one then (Do It)! you will not be disappointed

This is another great offering from WE and massdrop. To start, the purple ano is amazing. It's sort of iridescent so it looks more blue at one angle and more of a violet at other angles. It really is beautiful. The action was incredibly gritty out of the box, but after cleaning out the pivot and bearings and adding a little nano oil it is smooth as glass and falls shut. I won't take any points off for shipping a dirty knife, but I shouldn't have to disassemble a brand new knife to get it to function like new. The blade shape is great for EDC, and it's a decent size. The blade stock is pretty thick(seems to be the trend these days) but it does thin out nicely toward the tip so there's a good amount of edge for more delicate work. I think it's the largest of the Massdrop/We knives(don't quote me on that), so if you like smaller, lighter blades this might not be for you. The longer pocket clip is a plus too. Especially with that purple ano to show off.

I received my Ray Laconico a couple of days ago. 1st impression was WOW, The Ano job is Awesome! (Got the Purple) We knows how to properly Anodize. The color is vibrant and finger oil or lube does not have a negative affect on this finnish, It looks the same if I rub oil on it or clean it with Windex. Fit and finish is exactly what you expect from WE Knives. (Perfect) My only nit pick is that the blade didn't fall shut prior to my disassembly, clean and lube. It was very good but I knew I could bring it from a 9 to a 10 with little effort. I don't have any issue with weak detent. The blade snaps out with little effort. If I try REAL hard I can fail the deploy but it's a NON issue. My knife came pre lubed. it was not dry. Instead the lube on the bearings was thick and blackish gray. Most likely the black was from steel dust from the factory. By thick. I don't mean like axle grease but not as thin as the superlube oil I use. I suppose I would give a 4.5 star if the option existed but i'm still happy to give it a 5.
