Seems to me these sets are shining examples of why IC's are a thing. They allow you to get feedback BEFORE spending production money.
I love the idea of these sets, but so far they are missing the mark.
moortadeloI'm not sure, but it looks like the red on red mods are the same for this set and the Capt. America set. There's a little variation, but they look identical. It simplifies production I suppose.
It really grows on you. Initially didn’t like it, but eventually I grew to like it; I added gold backlighting and the keycaps are translucent enough that the light shines through slightly, brightening the legends up - this is what saved the entire look for me, but I understand that most people might not have RGB in their setup, so it depends on what you have/want
I agree with everyone else, the colors on this and the capt american set are too dull/red. Like iron man is supposed to be red, gold, and some silver(equal parts). This is just red, red and more red.... It's very obvious Drop/Massdrop has fully moved away from it's roots of asking what we are willing to buy so we have more input into those decisions to help you succeed in selling products that people actually want to buy.
Red on red would be great for a Daredevil theme, but I'm not seeing it for Cap or Iron Man. I realize that a complete set yellow mods could look gaudy, but a yellow spacebar and a few red on yellow novelties would be enough to convey the theme. Maybe it's just me, but when I think Iron Man, I don't think understated. Tony Stark is a flashy guy.
These mods are terrible. It's Iron Man -- if you're going to do gold on red for the alphas, all you had to do was red on gold for the mods, and you're done (just be careful not to go too yellow on the gold). When I look at what you came up with, it looks muddy, like I'm looking at a picture of something shot through a red filter, not looking at something that was really supposed to look like this. My initial reaction when I clicked through to look at this was that there was some sort of technical problem with the image you posted. To me, there's nothing about this colorway that jumps up and screams Iron Man. This is just a sort of muddy-looking red set. This should have been the easiest MCU character to capture in a colorway. If you guys are planning on doing more of these, you might want to consider running an Interest Check thread over on Geekhack to get some feedback first. From looking at the first few, you guys need some help fleshing these ideas out. I'm sure you're paying some graphic designers to figure it out for you, but it just isn't working. Somehow I suspect it's too late and you have more of these that you've already produced and are going to keep rolling out. Is your Hulk set even green?
euphxenosthe speed with which they are releasing these makes me think they have them all designed already. It really is a bummer to see such low effort go in to these. Imagine you get the opportunity to partner with Marvel and this what you come up with. Pretty disappointing, but then again the whole Mech Keys side of Drop has been disappointing lately.
