Amazing caps!
Took a long time, but totally worth the wait! These keycaps feel great, and I love the color. Although, there is a slight difference between the original renderings, I prefer the color of the actual product. The base set is a gray that is slightly warmer, and I am happy that is the case. It is reminiscent of some old electric IBM typewriters I played with when I was a kid. I love the colors. The double shot letters are amazingly crisp: There is only one imperfection that I noticed, which actually does not bother me at all, but letting Drop know since I am sure there are other customers that will be bothered by this detail, so they can address this in future runs. The legend on the Command key is a little thicker than other keys, as you can see in the following pics: As I said, it is not super noticeable, but some might not like that. That does not take away the great look and feeling of the caps overall. Thanks Drop and Matt3o for this amazing set. Can't wait for another collaboration between you! P.S. I love the Special edition keycap!

Another masterpiece form matt3o!
I was recently planning a retro build and was looking for keycaps to go with the theme. Was looking at SA profile for a while, but there wasn't anything out there that was appealing and available. Then I came across the MT3 Susuwatari and it fits the theme I wanted to go with perfectly! The MT3 profile is, special. It is definitely not for everyone, and especially not for gaming. For typing/coding they are truly something, I personally love everything about them. The texture, the feeling, and the colors are just spot on. If there was one thing I could complain about it's the fact that they are missing a NorDe/International kit. I really hope Drop makes this possible in the future.

What switch types are thse compatible with?
MX stems, as almost all switches on the market tend to be. Including Kailh BOX switches and those using a similar stem/surround type mount.
What does it mean that these have "doubleshot legends"?
The legends are a separate piece of plastic from the keycap rather than being printed or etched on top. This means the legend will always be visible no matter how much wear the keycap recieves.

Great colors with excellent layout coverage. I love the MT3 profile, but occasionally it's difficult to get the spacebar to sound good.

It's a shame you have to buy the entire ortholinear kit on top of the base kit if you already own it. Any chance of there ever being a kit that is ortho minus those already in base?

Yet another keyway color ... nothing new, really ... maybe do something with shine through keycaps to be different?

When is the International/Norde kit coming? Literally checking in here every single day

fredrikpLikely never; Drop has said the cost for new molds couldn't be made up for in expected sales, so they don't intend to make any.

Where are the Apple Kits for these mt3 keycaps?

jcurryThere's only Command keys available for this one, included in the base. The *custom* version of the /dev/tty set (but not the regular version) has an optional Apple kit, with different sizes of Command and Option keys. But if you're looking for function keys with Mac legends, the Extended 2048 set is the only MT3 one that has those available.

So is the monochrome [mods] kit basically the same as MT3 WoB?

For those interested in applying the base kit to a UHK, here's my experiment.
search
I think the biggest frustration from a typing standpoint is that none of the spacebars fit (I always use the left spacebar, and you can see my compromise below was to use a SHIFT key that was the proper width). Not only does it look goofy, but it's somewhat sharp on the thumb since the key isn't convex. Both spacebars on the UHK are 1.75U.
search
The base kit reasonably filled-out the left side, at least from a key row and width standpoint. The right side was another story...
search
This side is a bit of a mess. Two original UHK keys remain because I couldn't find any acceptable key from the base kit. The backspace key is too low when adjacent to that unnecessarily tall pipe/backslash key. I couldn't for the life of me understand why that key was so tall. There were multiple versions of that key included, but none seemed like a good compromise. The right-side shift and ctrl keys on the UHK, as they call out on their key layout page, are pretty elusive and this kit has no reasonable option for them. I doubt anyone will read this far, but just in case: any recommendations on spacebar options (1.75U) or those lower right-side keys (2.25U)? The spacebar kit doesn't have 1.75, and the other kits don't list their widths...

Is there any way to fix this warped space bar?
