Understated classic colorway in an underutilized profile

DCS Sleeper isn't trying to reinvent the wheel or impress you with popping colors, and that simple approach is what makes it so attractive. While the community continues to seek new manufacturers, new keycap profiles, new colorways, etc, Sleeper is a subtle reminder that it all started with an appreciation for older keyboards. It is a nod to the early days when group buys were small, colorways were simple, and keycap profiles were limited. When GMK group buys grew into an almost uncontrollable beast, DCS became a profile that ended up nearly being forgotten. In a hobby that teaches "preference is king" hobbyists got wrapped up in GMK hype and adopted a "thickness = quality" mentality. I personally find DCS to be a wonderful and worthy profile. Thinner keycaps benefit all tactile switches as they allow more of the "true" tactile feeling to pass through, which is particularly favorable for switches with modest tactility. I may even prefer the sculpting of DCS over Cherry. While I love Cherry profile, and still enjoy GMK sets, I think DCS needs more love from the community moving forward - especially since GMK wait times have become unreasonably long.

Good, not great.

Like some other reviews, and to my understanding of SP, there are several keys that came with chips in them along the bottom. This isn't the worst, considering when they sit on the board I barely notice them. I am disappointed that 3/5 of the Enter keys I have are warped when on the stabilizer. Again not the worst or even highly noticeable when not looking - but once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. For what its worth, I would have liked to see higher quality for what the set costs. Other than that, this set is good! Never used DCS profile, but it's a nice change of pace from Cherry. They sound and feel good to type on. And MiTo did a great job designing it as always.

Great colorway on a great profile

It's more or less the Muted colorway we all know and love, but now on a grossly underappreciated profile. DCS keycap walls are quite thin in comparison to GMK/ePBT/CRP, but the sculpt, texture and typing feel are all rather nice. As others have mentioned, sometimes there's a slight chip out of the keycap where the plastic is put into the mold, but when the keycaps are mounted it's very hard to notice unless you really look for it. What is less acceptable, however, is that myself and others seem to have gotten a duplicate keycap instead in lieu of another (I got two mod pipes instead of a mod pipe and 1.5u backspace) which is certainly frustrating. I bought another DCS set not too long ago and didn't have this issue, and I've had this issue with a GMK set before, so hopefully it's a one off and not something that happens again. All in all though the keyset is great, and I really hope more DCS, DSS and DSA sets are run moving forward.

Poor quality - returning

There were nicks and chips on almost all keys, especially visible for the bottom rows / end columns. I understand these are a function of the manufacturing process, but I have not see anything remotely this bad on any of the other keys I have purchased. I am returning the set, and refrain from purchasing any future kits involving this manufacturer (Signature Plastics) - it's a shame, though, as the keycap font and colors were really to my liking.

Stay away from SP group buys!

I received my set and to my surprise, what I paid a premium for, is just sub-par set. Being so close to GMK pricing, you'd expect something similar to GMK quality. This is the furthest thing from that. To begin with, the first thing a person sees when they receive a keycap set is the packaging. Here, it's comprised of a couple of plastic bags and some basic packing material. If this doesn't scream cost-cutting, wait for the rest. You'd think that double shot would suggest amazing crisp legends, with vivid colors, and nice texturing but what you actually receive are thin keycaps that let the legend color be discernable through the normal keycaps. How is this even passing QC? Speaking of the double shot quality, there are injection marks on most if not all keys. Is this acceptable when you have stuff sticking out of the keys if you take a picture from behind the keyboard? It's just another cost-cutting method. Overall, I am disappointed in this set and its potential. I still love typing on these keycaps but all of these problems stop me from ever wanting to buy another DCS set.

Badly shipped and badly made.

The keycaps came in a beaten up box and in two ziploc bags. I have no idea how these keycaps passed quality control as there were obvious problems with the injection molding. I would say every other keycap has a chip on one of its edges do to the poor molding. The keycaps themselves are pretty thin (don't have the exact measurement) and a slightly rough texture on top with smooth texture on the sides. Really disappointed in the quality of these keycaps, especially since the price is on par with GMK sets. I wouldn't even pay $40 for these.

Thin keycaps are not a bad thing

Thin keycaps = higher-pitched If you're looking to tune the keyboard's sound signature to a high pitch board, this is the way to go Furthermore, thinner keycaps = less weight on the switch, and better tactility for tactiles

Got the set today. Looks nice, no P, no alpha colored pipe. Incomplete set, therefore one star by default. In terms of quality etc. Legends look nice, texture feels nice. Some chipmarks on the front of keys, to be expected nothing that really concerns me. No idea how potential warp is, haven't used the set yet. Seems to be ok at least for the keys that are on the keyboard now. I don't necessarily believe this is due to Drop, my guess it Signature Plastic. Will make a ticket, but won't change review score.

Sorry that you have received set with missing keycaps, too. In my case I received set with duplicated keycaps for Sleeper, and missing keycap for Astrology set. I opened a ticket, stated what's duplicated/missing with picture and requested service rep. to ask vendor (Signature Plastics) to only send missing keycaps so I don't have to send entire set back to warehouse and wait. And Crystal from Drop support did this for me, and I received missing keycap from Signature Plastic via mail directly.

Not yet. Already got reply to my ticket, they’re contacting SP for it. Considering that will take a while and then shipping to Europe will as well, I don’t expect the caps before September. I can use the set, just looks a bit silly with “reset” instead of P. Not the end of the world to wait, but should have been checked better by SP and prevented imo.

I really wanted to love this set.

Was looking for something in this color palette and thought this was the exact set I needed. It was a plus too having MITO design. The actual keycaps colors are as expected along with the print. I do have to say though I bought the base set plus all add-ons. The first issues noticed were on delivery. I was sorely disappointed to find the set was packaged in a standard ziplock bag. For the price, I was really expecting more thorough packaging. It was a pain to identify if the sets were complete and no issues or missing items as had to layout all caps to check. Also, the walls on the caps are extremely thin. I was expecting a more substantial build quality. Also, all caps had nick marks on them and chips from where they were cut off the frames. For this quality, I would expect the caps to be much cheaper than this. At this point, I don't trust buying any keycap set from Drop unless it's a GMK cap. Giving it two stars because I did get everything ordered and it looks like the renders just not the quality expected.

i bought some SA-P snow keycaps from SP and was a bit shocked when they came in a crappy plastic bag and i was super worried about the damage this would cause on an expensive set. They really need to fix this.
